First the two negatives. 1) Busy street with lots of truck traffic which was loud when you sat in the living room and worked at the desk area. It was a little quieter at night and the bedroom is at the back so no trouble sleeping. 2) The "couch" as the owners call it is really a VERY dated leather sectional comprised of 2 end pieces and an armless middle piece. The pieces eventually start to slide apart as you sit/sleep on it and that is after you manage to sit on a sofa that is only 10" off the floor. The positives were plenty! Great Location close to three train station and walking distance to London Bridge, The Shard, South Bank area, Borough Market etc., Fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, granite counter tops, and a freezer, two baths (master had double sinks & shower and was the location of the washer/dryer), VERY large bedroom with skylights and loads of closet space. There was central heating which was very comfortable, The owner met us when we arrived and gave us the tour of the place and also provided us with a book about local places to eat, bus info, and there were written instructions for every appliance in the apartment. We felt very safe as there is a locked gate from the street that you needed a code to access entry plus a secure lock (need key) to the stairs up to the unit with buzz in from the apt., and then another key entry and deadbolt lock once you reached the door of the unit. We would stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Modern. spacious apartment with all the amenities one would use. The apartment was comfortable and light and attractively furnished. It is located in within easy walking distance of M&S simply food and Sainsbury in the opposite direction. London Bridge with the Borough Markets is a slightly longer walk away.
Transport in the area is good and easy to use. There are frequent buses which travel in Southwark street that will take tourists from Covent Garden to Tower Bridge via London Bridge and the London Eye. Borough and Southwark underground are within walking distance.
Enjoyed our stay in the apartment and the area.

Booking, instructions and car service were excellent for the Playhouse Ct. apt. The apt had good wifi and the location was close enough to the Tube train station, which we used every day. We enjoyed being close to Borough Market and some good places for breakfast. Though we didn't use it much, the kitchen should be appreciated by guests who enjoy cooking. The negatives included poor air quality, lack of cleanliness, and lack of comfortable furniture. There's no built-in air exhaust in the place, only heating, which we didn't need. The portable fans provided just blew air around. We weren't comfortable with idea of leaving terrace doors open all night given the city locale. The bathroom closest to bedroom was mildewed and the entire apt smelled of same. The mattress was thin and uncomfortable, and the pillows were stained (cases didn't seem fresh so we changed them and saw the pillows). The worn sofa and chair in the living/entertainment area should be replaced. I suppose we could all have different needs or standards for travel accommodation. My husband and I weren't expecting extreme luxury with a rental, but serious cleanliness is an absolute must with the number of travelers who go through a rental, regardless of other amenities. Frankly, I'm amazed that the daily rate has increased 20.00 since June. We can't recommend this apt to others under its current condition.

Location was the standout. Less than 10 mins walk to Shakespeare's Globe, Borough Market, the Shard, and two Tube stations. Good supermarkets nearby, along with plentiful eat out options. It was great to have room to move, unlike a lot of poky London hotels going for similar (and higher) rates. That said, furnishings were 'tired' Nd none too comfy after a long day out.

My aunt and I stayed here while visiting London for a week in May. The flat was well priced and convenient for our needs. Five minute walk to the tube station and 20 minute walk to the M&S. Lots of space to relax when not out, but the couches/seating areas left a bit to be desired. All in all, would return and stay again anytime.

We spent weeks looking for the ideal spot for a 10 day stay and like the look of this place. It exceeded our expectations in every way
Location:
Nearest groceries.
There is a 24 hour service station 30 seconds from the front gate, they sell some food, wine and essentials, having said that the freezer and cupboards had ample supplies of non perishables anyway. There is a convenience store 90 seconds away and both Marks and Spencers and Tesco Supermarkets are within 5 minutes walk.
Transport:
Five minute walks will get you to London Bridge and Borough Tube Stations, Six minutes walk will get you to London Bridge above ground Train station which will get you out of London. Three minutes walk will get you to a bus shelter and the RV1 will take you to Covent Garden Markets non stop via Waterloo (South Bank dinning and London Eye). Other attractions such as Tower of London, St Pauls, Tower Bridge. Borough Markes and Globe theatre are within ten minutes brisk walk.
Dinning:
Nearest Pub with food 2 minutes, Indian Dinning 2 minutes, but ten minutes will get you to scores of eateries from takeaways to 5 Start along the Thames between Borough Markets and London Bridge, we didn't venture further but I suspect it continues beyond that and we heard good reports heading back towards the Globe would see the same result,
The apartment.
If you can carry your bags up two flights of stairs nothing could be better, well equipped, well stocked, large and spacious, clean and a view of the Shard front and centre. We had a fill in cleaner who asked what day suited us and did all of her duties when we were out.

We really enjoyed our stay here; great character, great light and very spacious. Two bathrooms, one with a large tub, the other with a shower & bidet. The laundry machine worked well and we put it to good use. The bed was very comfortable, there was ample closet space, and it was really a treat having that much space overall.
There is a large area for work if you insist on working while here, and the wifi was excellent.
Due to the apartment's proximity to Borough Market, we were able to stock the kitchen with the best of everything. When we weren't snacking all day, or when Borough Market was closed, we found great food etc. within walking distance (most notably, breakfast at THE TABLE).
Otherwise, It's a bit of a walk to the nearest tube station, but not terribly far. You can see the Shard from the front window, and the radio & tv were easy to use. We hope to stay there again very soon!
