Happened to be walking back into Camden after visiting the Zoo and we found this place.
Nice welcome from the helpful courteous staff and able to choose a table. The inspiration for the food at the restaurant is southern US burgers with an accent on pork.
The menu is small but the food is good; we went for Calamari (very fresh) and pepper and sweetcorn fritters (very good) as starters before going for burgers for the main. The menu requires you to order a burger and then choose/pay extra for the side orders. Even if you add in the cost of the sides it's still good value.
The burgers themselves are a good size but would maybe have benefited from larger buns (but I am being picky here in all honesty) and the fries are good. Intersting touch is the food comes in metal bowls of the type you use if you go camping!!!
My only concern is that the service charge is built into the bill; you don't get the choice. I know of other restaurants where this is the norm and we found out in these cases the tip went to the restaurant and not the front of house team :-(
Other than the concern ref the tip I would definitely eat at Porkys again.
