I popped in to Shamata for a bite to eat with my girlfriend, and was delighted by the care and attention given to us! I went for a beautifully presented Turkish coffee and some divine lamb kofte meatballs, spiced to perfection, in a crusty sesame seed sandwich with seasoned chips. Everything was reasonably priced, hot, and delicious. The owners chatted with us while we ate, as we were the only customers in the restaurant, and we learnt they'd only been open 3 months! With service and quality that superb, Shamata will have a very happy future on Green Lanes, and I already want to go back again. Highly recommended.

This new café/restaurant on Green Lanes, between Manor House and Turnpike Lane, has everything! The welcome is warm and friendly, the service attentive but not intrusive and the food so fresh and totally delicious. From some perfect homemade lemonade to the most fabulous breakfast dishes to delicious and beautifully prepared evening meals. Organic ingredients prepared with the greatest care, I cannot praise this place enough! The competition is tough round here with lots of well reviewed restaurants but this beats them all and is a total gem. Lets hope it stays forever!

Gorgeous, new cafe in the midst of all the kebab places in Green Lanes. Run by a woman who does her own (sublime) baking - light and delicious- and uses organic products, including eggs. Turkish coffee (hard to find in Green Lanes these days) served in a beautiful arrangement with chocolates.
I took my elderly mother and the service could not have been lovelier. Respectful, kind...
And not expensive! A substantial long lunch for two comes in well under £20.
Worth supporting this unusual venture!
