We went to this place a few months ago to try it and have been going twice a week since.

This is exceptional restaurant.

Authentic, great decor, high quality food that is well priced with a menu that has a lot of choice and topped off by first class friendly service and has the feel of a proper local restaurant.

Make sure you visit.

Went for a quick after work dinner with two friends. You do need to book, so be aware, but the food is delicious. Lovely ginger haired waitress served us, was knowledgeable about all the dishes and was helpful with suggestions on portion sizes.

The food all comes at different stages, so wonderfully freshly cooked, piping hot and delicious. Strongly recommend the courgette flowers, fried in goats cheese with crispy batter. The salad was a little bit of a let down, but seriously, who goes out and orders a salad? Salt Cod fried balls were very good, as was the procuitto on tomatoey bruschetta.

Great bottle of not quite house white, one up, £16 and a bargain at that. Service was quick and efficient.

An absolute gem of a restaurant and would strongly recommend for anyone to try.

One only small complaint. You would think in a restaurant serving tapas on multiple plates they would have invested in slightly larger tables??? But not really a complaint as the food was delicious and as soon as we had finished a dish that plate was removed.

Some days you feel like a gamble. Today was one of those days. I'd been working late in the office but the sun was still shining when I arrived back at my hotel inIslington so I decided I wouldn't waste time trawling through Trip Advisor looking for the perfect restaurant. Instead I thought I'd  just take a stroll and see what I found. It didn't take me long to find La Farola. It's a great new tapas place with a shabby chic feel and chilled ambient tunes (on a Wednesday that is, though the previous review suggests it may be a different vibe at weekends). I decided to give it a go.

I love tapas but too often in the UK it can be poor quality... but not here. There's a good choice of meat, fish & vegetarian tapas. I had three dishes, which proved to be just about the perfect amount of food. First, I had some salt cod croquettes. They were suitably crispy on the outside yet meltingly delicious on the inside. The bravas sauce that came with them was very good too.  Second, I had some arroz negro - rice coloured black with squid ink served with plenty of bits & pieces of tender squid and topped with aioli, smoked paprika & parsley. It was beautiful. Finally, I had the gambas al ajillo - three monster prawns with plenty of chilli & garlic. Very good too. I washed it all down with a large glass of red.

The total bill came to £27, including service. It's not cheap but it's well worth the price. I'll be back for sure. But next time I'll turn down the seat at the singles bar at the window. That was one uncomfortable stool! And the view of the homeless guy outside Sainsbury's local did distract me a bit. But that's one small negative. All in all this place is great. I urge you to go. You won't be disappointed!

PS don't be put off by the lack of reviews - they've only been open two months at the time of writing.

Im really surprised nobody has reviewed this place yet! I visited this restaurant on a Friday night with my mum. We booked a table, we had to wait about 10mins for our table but we still took a seat by the bar at the window (where I would have been happy to dine) and waited. The waiter was extremely apologetic and brought us some complimentary olives but it really was no bother.
The food was fantastic, we had a range of dishes including delicious iberico pork and rosemary manchego. The quality was fantastic, I've just returned from Spain so was concerned the tapas wouldnt match up, I was really impressed with this tapas!
The house white at £16 a bottle was also really nice.
We had more than enough food (about 6 dishes) and the bill was £60 including service - bargain!
The service was fantastic so I hope they keep this up.
The only thing which my mum mentioned was they had quite heavy dancy music on (perhaps as it was a Friday) but they didn't really need this, just background music would have been fine.
I will definitely be going back and just hope they keep up the good work!
