“Value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2014

Stayed here for 3 days while sightseeing round London.Ideally based for trains, underground and buses to get you anywhere round London. As from 6th July, there will be no cash exchanged for fares, you have to have an Oyster card which you can top up and use all the time. The TL was very clean and the bed (Kingsize) was extremely comfortable.Downstairs where the reception is is a restaurant open 24/7 so you can get breakfast (eat all you can) which was very good, right through to lunch, dinner and evening meal, plus there was a bar which was a bonus. The staff that we came in contact with (Louron,Yulia,Kerry and Karol were very helpful and courteous which made our stay very enjoyable.Would certainly stay here again if we came down to London in the future.

Room Tip: We were allocated a room that was alongside the train track but the noise level was minimal, very goo...

Stayed here two night in June, hotel is brand new, clean comfortable & transport links are on your doorstep. Although there isn't much nightlife here you have excellent transport links to all the London areas.

We paid extra for early check in, I think it was £8 pre booked as we were arriving around lunch time & wanted to make the most of the rest of the day as normal check in is 3pm, so worth paying if you want to make the most of your time in London.

The room we stayed in was small but not uncomfortably, it was clean with a fantastically comfortable king size bed, we were on the second floor room 214, not much of a view, only next buildings window, however we did not stay there for the view & was hardly in the room, coffee/tea making facilities, small shower gel (tiny) & good shower, towel changed each day we were there, hair dryer can be obtained from reception.

There is a bus depot directly in front of the hotel, a train station directly behind it & the tube station is on your right as you come out of the entrance, however you do not hear any notice from either stations whilst in the hotel.

The hotel windows do not open, however the air con is rather good & quiet & as someone who always sleeps with the window open, I found this to be sufficient for my stay.

Check in was quick & efficient, reception staff friendly & very informative, they are very helpful on areas & transport links of your destinations during your stay, if you need to know anything the staff will give you detailed maps of were you have to go etc etc., they also have an information stand in reception with helpful information leaflets so grab some of them.

I do agree with some reviews where reception was not always manned at times, this included the bar at certain times also, I watched people wait up to 10 mins to be seen by a receptionist/bar member & the phone that you are supposed to use to call if it's unmanned wasn't always on reception, so this area could be improved on.

Bar/restaurant area is canteen like but very clean, however the air con is on constantly & cold at times, I had to ask twice for it to be turned off or switched to warm as it got quite cold sat there, it is located downstairs near reception, we paid extra for the breakfast, don't bother, I assumed it would be like the Premier Inn breakfast which is quite substansual with plenty of choice but all it is is beans, bacon, cereal, toast, scrambled eggs & sausage, coffee/tea & orange juice, go to the cafe around the corner for a cheaper bigger brekkie. We did have a meal there 1 night as we didn't want to go in to Leicester square as Englands first match was showing, so decided to eat here & watch the match, food was good & reasonable as was bar prices.

The London eye, Big Ben etc is only a 15 mins walk away from the hotel, we had a walk out 1 night & found some nice places close by, we had a drink in a place only 5 mins away, (out of hotel, turn right up along that road) a restaurant (Portuguese) casa Madeira & we were sorry we ate in hotel as the menu looked good, was reasonably priced & it was very busy with spaniards, we even watched some being turned away it was that busy & they looked rather disappointed so this place is worth a go.

Just further up is a little bar The Rose, nice place for a stop off, then a little further is a quirky little boat bar, just a boat parked up on the Thames turned in to a bar, lovely to sit & have a glass or 2 of wine & watch the goings on around the Thames, it even has a dance floor downstairs, this is worth a visit.

All in all we had a great stay here & was satisfied both with the hotel & surrounding areas.

I would not hesitate to stay here again or to recommend it to family/friends.

Great location ,we stayed two nights, Vauxhall station, undergroun , bus station, Sainsbury and Waitrose all within 100 metres.
Room although small was very clean and comfortable with en suite shower room, flat screen tv and coffee making . There is a bar and cafe which we did not use but looked very clean and tidy. No hairdryer in room but was available from reception. No niggles at all , and was great value
Recommended and will return

Although the hotel is brand new my experience was quite horrible.
My room was in the basement with a window that opened to a wall.
The room had no daylight whatsoever.
The temperature in the room was always set to freezing level and it would take hours for the room to warm up. I had to sleep with extra clothes on.
If they give you a basement room, take your things an run.

This hotel is perfect and is very easy to find, especially if you come by tube to Vauxhall Station. If you come from Gatwick by coach, get off at Vauxhall, go straight on and take the first left. Then take the first right and the hotel is really close, you can see "Travelodge" easily. We checked in the afternoon, there were 5 of us and we were in two rooms. The reception welcomed us warmly and kindly, especially Dalila. They were really helpful and cooperative, gave us advice and directions and everything. Rooms are cosy, beds are king size, really comfortable and very clean. Bathrooms are extraordinary - new, beautiful, there is a bath tub.

London can be tricky - you're either going to pay out your nose for a decent stay in an excellent location, or pay very little and have to stay way outside the city centre or you're in a neighborhood that's seedy.

This hotel is neither. You're right at the Vauxhall tube and bus station, and you can literally see the Eye from the window of the lift. Very safe, comfortable, quiet neighborhood.

The room was quite large and clean, as was the bathroom. No tub, but decent shower. We didn't try breakfast or drinks at the hotel, but with a Starbucks next door and the close proximity of everything you could ask for, we didn't miss it.

Very friendly staff, and at 65 a night, you really can't beat it.
