“Poor Facilities”
Reviewed April 16, 2014 via mobile

We recently stayed here for two nights, and although there were enough of us to fill our own rooms, our large group was split over 6 floors, rather than all being near. The shower and toilet both stank, and only one of the two showers on our floor was usable due to a broken door. The beds were surprisingly comfortable though and I slept well. As already been pointed out it is very cheap for the location, which is another benefit, if you can put up with the conditions.
We also felt staff were a little rude, rushing us out before the check out time we had been told.

I stayed there alone just for one night. It was very loud. People were screaming on the street and inside the hostel. No one had control over what was going on there. Also, by their mistake they have allocated me to a male dorm. Beds are comfortable, but not very stable, so if the person sleeping in the bed under your bed moves, be sure your bed shakes. Toilets and showers were poor condition and breakfast is just a joke. Few slices of toast and some bad jam. I ate in the coffee shop nearby. Service at the reception wasn't nice either. Good side is location. Very close to tube station and number of shops and restaurants.

Very cheap for Chelsea but this place has NOTHING else going for it at ALL.

I was lumbered in a minuscule room in which you could hardly swing a gerbil; EVERYONE in it stank; the degradingly ugly fat jabber underneath me snored liked a velociraptor from dawn till dusk; the toilets were coated in mud and honked of stale urine (human and dog); the shower was a pathetic self-pitying trickle; the clientele were just lower species of life.

JUST SAY NO

My dance group attended MOVEIT dance festival this weekend which by the way was amazing and put everyone in high spirits. We arrived at our hostel and it didn't look too bad, until we went to our rooms. First of all we were at the completely opposite end of the hostel to our teachers, we had to travel up at 6 flights of stairs to reach our room bearing in mind we had all of our bags to carry and there wasn't a lift in sight. The rooms were tiny and had no curtains covering the windows, I found all kinds of hair on my so called fresh bed sheets including pubic. The walls and ceilings had traces of mould on, the shower facilities were a fair way from the rooms and the plug holes were blocked by hair. Everywhere you went you were sure to see dirt, luckily we we only had to endure this hostel for one night.

I stayed in The Londonears in January 2014. We had a room of 8 people, but we only got two keys for some reason. Also the window was open a bit, and you couldn't close it, so we had to leave it that way for the night. The room itself was okay, the sheets were clean, but the bunk beds were a bit shaky. It was also quiet at night. Toilets and showers weren't that nice, you couldn't drink the tap water. There were couple of kitchen corners in the upper floors with drinkable water. We had breakfast at the hostel, it was toast and cereals. The lady in the reception was very nice, but the rest of the stuff wasn't that great. On a plus side, we were able to store our stuff there before and after our stay. The hostel was located near a metro station, so it was easy to get to places. There were also pubs and restaurants nearby.

Take a TOILET ROLL and TOWEL.
Me + 2 grown up kids + 10 yr old stayed for 1 night. Staff are at best civil, they were pleasant enough to us but quite rude to others they spoke to. We booked a 4 bed room (bunk beds) with no bathroom, but we were given a 6 bed for the same price + private bathroom which was a bonus. It wasn't dirty, but I wouldn't say it was clean either. Bed sheets were clean, bathroom was ok, shower door was broken and came off in my son's hands. No toilet paper or paper towels in dispenser but I took some toilet paper and a towel anyway. No hooks to hang anything, no lockers, just the beds.No curtains, but then they want you up and out in the morning. Great location and parking was Free as we arrived after 1.30pm on a Saturday and it is Free all day Sunday (if you can find a space, which we did). breakfast available in several pubs close by and we felt safe returning close to midnight.

Donwside was - my son left his watch under his pillow and when we called back about it they really couldn't care less - in fact the night reception chap was down right rude saying 'prove it' - I called back the next morning and the woman was more polite but completely disinterested. So take care not to leave anything behind, you will never see it again! I would hope for 'Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear that, leave your contact details with me and if we find anything we'll be in touch' - they take your money, they give you a room that's all - no frills but cheap - what do you expect for £64 for a family of 4?
I don't expect the Premier Inn next door is any cleaner or any more welcoming and that would have cost is £399 for the same night.

“Beforehand, we were a bit scared by all the reviews. We brought clean sheets and everything and we were fully prepared. At arrival the staff member was pretty friendly, we got our room key. After 3 stairs, we got there and anxiously opened the door. And you know what? It was alright! Not a 5* hotel but what did you expect? Clean sheets, the bed was sleepable and no bugs at all. For the private rooms this hostel does not deserve the current reviews. Can't speak for the public rooms though!”

Room Tip: Private (double) room was alright! Nothing to complain about. Can't speak about the public rooms...
