Today, this former bustling trading floor has been transformed into a unique and contemporary French gastronomic paradise, still bustling with city folk, but rather than shouts of anguish while trading the world’s money, there are sighs of delight as taste buds explode with the incredible and varied selection of French Cuisine. It’s taken years of articulate planning and research, carried out at the very best restaurants across the world to prepare Threadneedle Street. The sophisticated design and layout provides an elegant and comfortable space for the city to enjoy breakfast, lunch, afternoon coffee, evening dinner or cocktails and the meticulous attention to detail means every table has a fascinating view. Two side bars offer the finest freshly made coffee, alongside vibrant Patisserie and Savoury stands, as beautiful to look at as they are to taste. From the creator of La Palais du Jardin comes La Bourse, French gastronomy at its finest.

“A secret City hideaway and worth putting on your list”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

In true city banking style this recently opened restaurant is a great find. Bigger inside than it looks from the passageway it's actually tucked down the side of 60 Threadneedle Street. Great banking style decor the menu was refreshingly different. Currently sporting a core lobster central menu too, it offers something for everyone. I had the sea bass and I have to say it was great! Good, efficient, discreet service and at a good location. It's on my list to go back to ....

“Hidden, almost a gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

Ate here for a business lunch. It opened in April but is still not very busy, perhaps in part because it is slightly hidden and not where the address implies. Why don't they put some decent directions on the (very annoying) web site? From Threadneedle Street head down Old Broad Street and turn down the alley with the MASSIVE BIRD WING sticking out the ground (yes, really).

Service is discrete and faultless.

I had crusted salmon, my friend seared tuna which was clearly a great choice. Food is modern british/french, if you know what I mean. There is also a lobster menu which we didn't try.

Ought to be doing much better than it is. Food is certainly better than Brasserie Blanc next door which is always packed.

Feels a bit soulless but that would go if it filled up!

Give it a try, the food wont disappoint. Am booked to go again already.

“Great atmosphere”

Nice location for a business catchup or a dinner with a special someone.
Great wine selection and food to go with it, not speaking of the desert selection.

“Great Food Needs nore ambience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

I ate heere on a business lunch 11 July 2013. The restaurant is not easy to find as the address 60 Threadneedle St, London, EC2R 8HP but Threadneedle St is split two ways. However it is worth finding. The restaurant is huge; so big it is mostly empty which is a real shame as the food and the wine list is excellent as is the service. It needs filling up to give it more atmosphere, more vibrance. The menu is really good. I had crab to start and Barbary duck for a main. Come dessert there was no cheese on the menu which was disappointing so I asked for it and lo and behold it was produced. If it's there I'm not sure why it wasn't listed on the dessert menu as most people know it is a very popular choic post lunch/dinner. I don't know if open for dinner in the evening, I suggest checking their website, but I would higly recommend it for business lunches if you are in the EC3 post code.

“High-End Hospital Decor, Gourmet "also-ran"”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2013

This place is relatively new and in a very good location. From the outside it is very enticing ut that fades away within the first few minutes inside. There is way too much white (walls, tablecloths), extremely bright lighting and gold trim on the railings. The bright, open space devoids the location of any atmosphere and ambience.

Everyone in a service capacity, from the front door to the waitstaff to the owner, was attentive and genuinely wanted to ensure an excellent experience to their guests.

The food, while very good, just seemed to be the latest in a long line of restaurants to offer basically the same thing. I was disappointed not in the quality or flavor but that I've had the same thing (there or thereabouts) countless times before in London, Amsterdam, New York...etc...

I will go back if someone else wants to go but I probably will not be initiating any visits unless I'm told they've redecorated.
