We read an article about this place and thought we'd try as we live close. As the taxi pulled up I thought we had the wrong restaurant, it looked like a greasy cafe from the outside! But what a surprise! Excellent Japanese food! Really, really tasty. The presentation and quality was superb. Order the tiger prawns caramelized the butter milk and oats, you won't be disappointed. So pleased to have discovered this gem. Very friendly staff too.
Oh and bring your own wine!

I went here last night with some friends. I live just round the corner from it and heard about the tripadvisor rating, so I thought I'd give it a go. We really enjoyed it. It looks a bit like a transport cafe but that sort of adds to the charm. The food was really good, with plenty of choice for any veggies out there, and it doesn't break the bank. The service was friendly, and they let you bring your own booze, which keeps the cost down. You are better off reserving a table - it's a small place and it seems like these reviews are quickly filling the place up every night. We were turned away at first but they phoned us half an hour later with a table. I'm very happy to have discovered this. We will definitely be going back.

I regularly use trip advisor last few years and check which are best restaurants in London. Until recently had never seen this one on the list, then all of a sudden becomes the 2nd best restaurant in London ?

Decided to go as it was only 20mins away. From the reviews I got the impression this was a sushi / Japanese restaurant. I've been to many sushi places in London and defo know my stuff

Sat nav took us close on the high street and I started wondering where this place was until I caught the name in the corner of my eye while passing by. Was totally shocked at the size & appearance from outside it looked a bit small, rundown and basically not what you'd expect from the 2nd highest rated restaurant in London but we thought oh well don't judge a book by its cover it might be a secret gem of a place and we were starving

Went in it was really cramped busy with only one table free which had just been used not cleared up. Told the waitress we had booked and she showed us the just used table which she started cleaning fair enough. Table space was cramped and too close to next people felt bit uncomfortable

One thing I didn't like straight away was the lighting was so bright hurt my eyes slightly and killed any atmosphere you usually get with darker light

Had a look though menu looked very Japanese with bit of fusion prices looked high typical sushi £8 for a couple slices tuna etc

Food took a while to arrive our green tea took longer arriving after all the food. Oh well. Odd thing the green tea arrived in normal English tea mugs which I though odd usually comes in small Asian style cups but again no big deal I guess

Sushi didnt seem that fresh to me. It soon struck me that this wasnt really a true sushi / Japanese place but was run by I think Malaysians or other south east region. Again I know no big deal and can't hold that again them but I kinda got impression would be Japanese

This is my first ever restaurant review and I never usually moan but I don't feel it's right this restaurant is somehow rated 2nd highest in London

It really is that good. From outside it does not look very inviting and inside is very spartan too. But the food is fantastic, the service was excellent and the chef/owner is a very nice guy. We were a family of six for a light lunch. We had never had Japanese before but the Tripadvisor reviews convinced us to try it. We were cautious and opted for dumpling and spring roll starters followed by ramen noodle and teriyaki main courses. Delicious! And the price was very, very competitive. I would love an excuse to visit again soon. We arrived in Greenwich by cruise boat and walked about 7 minutes to the restaurant. We travelled back on the DLR. A great day out.
