had never been in here until recently but wish i had done it sooner.
If you love your comics ,memorabilia and related to popular films ,shows and games then this is a must.
Could have spent an absolute fortune in there has samller items like mini figuresetc etc right up to expensive figurines/ models or replicas.
would recommend taking the kids in there and for the adult that doesnt want to grow up.
If this is your sort of thing take plenty of money.
Staff are really helpful and suprisingly the store wasnt that busy when i visited.
you can also order online if they dont have a particular item in store at that time or the size you want.

This is a proper comic book store with a large basement and plenty of merchandise for the die hard comic book geek as well as someone who just wants a super hero t-shirt. Give yourself plenty of time to look around and avoid if you do not like crowded spaces.

Every time I visit London, I make sure I stop at Forbidden Planet. Top floor for paraphernalia and lower floor for books and comics including a cthulhu corner.

With a 17yo son, I have been to quite a few of these kinds of places. However, this is the absolute best. The place is huge, and packed with collectibles and memorabilia from floor to ceiling. It is like a nerd/geek museum where everything is for sale. A must for fantasy fans.

Ah, Forbidden Planet! Many a pay-check has been decimated in here, and I don't regret a single purchase. This place is quite simply geek heaven. They cater to interests in a huge range of sci-fi/ fantasy books, shows, game, and movies. You name it, they've got it.

Their prices are already reasonable, and you can get a 10% discount on top of that if you have a valid student ID (which sadly I no longer do... Being an adult is hard). They also have a well-stocked sale section, and I regularly find excellent bargains here. One of my favourite purchases is a Behind-the-Scenes book of the TV show Heroes that I was able to buy for just 99p!

The top half of the store is for general merchandise such as T-shirts, model props, Pop! figures, action figures, mugs, etc, whereas the bottom half of the store is for comics, graphic novels, books, board games, and collectable cards. I find they usually have new stock in when it comes to comics and graphic novels, and the sale section for books is brilliant as they have a whole shelf where you can get 3 books for £2! I also often buy my YuGiOh cards from here as they have a good selection of booster packs, and don't charge a heavy premium for the privilege, unlike many other card shops that I visit.

Ultimately, Forbidden Planet is an obligatory rite-of-passage for any UK based nerd, and well worth at least a quick visit if you ever find yourself in London.

Forbidden Planet is a firm favorite with my friends and I. It is a wonderful den of geek products (comics, books, games, merchandise). Upstairs can get very busy, but do head downstairs - you will find plenty to explore. Staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and keen (don't be put off asking questions because it might to obscure and geeky - they will have an idea). The product range is massive, and at competitive prices. Make sure you bring spending money - I have not managed to leave without buying something.

If you are visiting London and have an interest in Sci-Fi, Fantasy and/or Comic Books, you should at least stroll in this shop for a while. Ground floor has all sort of toys, miniatures, and mementos from the most popular geek books, series, and movies.

The lower ground floor has the book shop. It is one of my favourite shops for Fantasy, Sci-Fi and comic books. They always have what I'm looking for, and it is very well organised, so I normally find the book I'm looking for in no time.

Also the staff knows what are they talking about, which is very important in this kind of shops.

I was exhausted waiting for my kids to stop looking at all the merchandise.
So busy and hot ....only two chairs for waiting friends/family.
Please add a bench along that wall opposite the tills as it is hell if the kids want to shop for hours!
To me it all seemed like a waste of money but kids loved it.
