“Excellent produce, beautiful cooking”

I love that this restaurant is all about the produce. Best fish in London. Everything on the plate is there to enhance the flavours of the main elements. 10/10.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

I visited as part of a group of 4 on a Saturday evening and we opted for the tasting menu (without the wine flight)

Food: Oustanding. The fish dishes were particularly good (scallop with beta-carotene, king prawn with crispy noodles and sweetcorn, monkfish). None of my group were particularly fond of the chicken/egg dish however; it wasn't unpleasant but it wasn't up to the standard of the rest of the menu. The pigeon with shot was very nice. The desserts were sublime: moon rocks (amazing), strawberry bubbles (very dramatic and refreshing) and the french toast was one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. We ordered cheese as an additional course which was also very good.

Wine: The sommelier was very helpful and recommended us a white, red and sweet wine for our meal. All were very enjoyable.

Service: Extremely good. The staff were very professional, attentive and knowledgable.

Well worth a visit. Earlier reviews suggest some teething problems but I saw no evidence of these.

“Better than early reviews”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

Like many people early reviews put me off this eagerly anticipated addition to London's bulging restaurant scene. So I gave it a few months to bed in. The experience now is good enough to rival the best that London has to offer. Technically the food was perfect and the quality of the ingredients everything that you would expect.

Unfortunately Ametsa (and its bizarre suffix) has not positioned itself as just good in London but as exceptional in the world (because of its bizarre suffix) and it isn't quite. I will certainly go back and recommend it others but I feel it would benefit from finding it's own identity.

“Marvellous ! Don't listen to the restaurant critics !”
Reviewed June 1, 2013 via mobile

Having booked for dinner months ago I was very disappointed to read negative reviews from virtually all the major newspaper critics!
Well if there was a problem then there certainaly isn't one now.
Amazing inivative food, wonderful service & interesting Spanish wines (if you like them, if not plenty of others imin offer!)
Go for the tasting menu - it's wonderful !
