Description: 'If a city gets the restaurants is deserves then London has clearly been a very good girl of late. [Hawksmoor Air Street] is everything you woud want it to be and quite a bit more.' Jay Rayner, Observer Located in an Art Deco room overlooking Regent Street, the menu at Hawksmoor Air Street is equally-weighted between steak and seafood. We've teamed up with Mitch Tonks, the chef/owner of one of the best seafood restaurants in the country, to mastermind the fish side of things, not least by ensuring that we receive the freshest produce possible straight from Brixham market in Devon. Close to the theatres of the West-End, we have an Express Menu that's perfect for lunch, pre-theatre and post-theatre dinners. The entrance to the restaurant is on the short stretch of Air Street between Piccadilly and Regent Street. Air Street is the perfect space for a wide range of events including award ceremonies, film premiere parties and cocktail receptions. It can accommodate up to 235 people in the restaurant and 70 in the bar. For more information on private hire and events, please contact our events team.

We visited the restaurant with a pre booking from open table. We had chosen the offer a 3 course meal with cocktail for £35. I think the value of the overall booking with food was excellent as without the offer we could have probably paid over £90 but we only paid £70.
My only bugbear was the variety on the menu, I understand that for these types of offers there is usually a set menu; but I think they could have added a bit more variety to this menu and give a few more options.
The cocktail was nice, but there were only two to choose from I think adding one more cocktail variety would have been great.
We ordered the burger option on the menu, it was nice and we left feeling full, which is always a good thing. I would have probably ordered something different if we had more option.
The main and desert options were quite good, but the starter options were not great at all. The food was good, but the selection was a bit poor.
The ambience of the restaurant was nice, we arrived at 4:30pm and this is just before it started to get busy. As we were finishing out meal we looked around and the restaurant had filled up quickly, so I think we went at a good time.
The staff were friendly and attentive we had someone who was around to top up our water, this was a nice touch to the service.
I also liked the cloakroom facilities, this adds extra comfort and luxury.
I enjoyed reading the story about the restaurants beginnings in the menu, this was a nice insight into the restaurant and their ethics, I had gained a respect to learn about the humble beginnings and how far they have come along in the industry.
The toilets were clean and comfortable.

Hawksmoor is obviously a good restaurant but we felt it didn't live up to the high expectations. Arrival was chaotic and we had to queue to hand over coats then again to be shown to our table, but that was likely just unfortunately timing.

We had requested a quieter table were pleased to be given one down the far end of the restaurant where we wouldn't be bothered by people walking past all the time. Service was efficient but a little impersonal - our wine was continually topped up to the point where we felt rushed, and on one occasion the waiter was pouring our wine while talking to a neighbouring table! The food was good - the potted beef starter was great and generously portioned. The chateaubriand main was ok but not worthy of the price premium over other cuts. We asked for it rare but it was very blue to point of being almost cold in the middle. Whilst a nice cut it was not exceptional and certainly not worth £81 for 600g.

Overall a good meal, but not the exceptional experience one expects from Hawksmoor. We'll try somewhere else next time

Everything from the service to the food was impeccable, wasn't sure about the potted beef started but it was beautiful and the steaks were probably the best we have ever had... Not to bad price wise either for what you get, great work

We had the best waiter, our food was lovely and atmosphere was good, but our waiter Rahoul was brilliant, conspiring with me for a birthday surprise for hubby, advice and recommendations from the bar, and menu to where to go later on in our night, he really made the experience great! An asset to an already great restaurant!

After hearing so much about this famous steakhouse, I was looking forward to this visit.
At 7pm, the restaurant no longer had any large cuts, apart from a couple of 900gr (!!) T-bone. We were left with the regular steaks, that we can get anywhere else. The food was OK, but didn’t see the quality and greatness everyone talks about. Quite expensive for an average meal. Wouldn’t recommend or go back.
