Travelodge London Bethnal Green
Ranked #494 of 1,077 Hotels in London

This hotel is located in Bethnal Green and is a comfortable and clean place to stay. The rooms are basic but very clean and everything works well. The showers are functional and always clean during our stay. Bethnal Green is ideally situated for travel into Central London as there are several choices, including bus, train and underground train. An Oyster card is always a good choice when staying in the city as it has great flexibility being valid on buses, tube trains and overground trains in the city limits. Bethnal Green is very diverse ethnically and is an interesting place to explore. Nearby Whitechapel has a great outdoor market.

We booked this hotel in march and payed less than £ 200 for 4 nights, breakfast included ( 2 adults, 2 children), which was a real bargain. The room is basic, very clean, with an excellent bed and a great shower. Breakfast was basic but ok. The staff is very friendly. For the price we paid we got an excellent service!

I stayed here October 2013 as part of a two day trip down to London with my girlfriend. The booking was easy and the hotel was easy enough to find.

Overall the room was very well cleaned and maintained, and even though fairly basic, it sufficiently catered for a nights stay within Central London. One criticism would be that travellodge could provide some complimentary body wash and shampoo; this doesn't cost a lot but can save the hassle for customers who didn't bring anything like that and have to go out of their way to buy some from a supermarket or similar.

the location of the hotel meant that with a 15minute walk you could get a tube station and enter Central London from there. At first this may seem as a negative point, however it meant that the noise pollution outside of the hotel was significantly less which gives a nicer environment.

in addition to my room I had bought the breakfast in the morning. This was very basic, but sufficiently provides a decent breakfast.

All in all a great hotel and especially for the price. No doubt I will be returning here if I ever travel to London and stay again.

We paid £68 for the room, and given the timing of the booking it was the best rate we were going to find anywhere near Central London, which let's be honest is criminally over priced.
The hotel is situated about 1 minutes walk from the nearest tube station so is ideally placed to get you on your way to whichever part of London you desire.
The hotel has shops and take aways nearby so you are covered for food and snacks and most other things you may require.
Reception were friendly and the room itself seemed nice and clean, it was just on closer inspection that we noticed a particular stain on the bed sheet which reminded me of the first few years of my children's lives.
That one moment / mark undid all of the very good work the hotel had done in one fell swoop.
The hotel was very noisy with the sound of trains coming and going until late and starting again early, but ear plugs should be able cut out this noise. Be aware though that the rooms are very warm, so if you want to open the window the noise will be considerably louder.
Ultimately, it's a Travelodge, so you know what expect. In my experience the newer refurbished TL's are fine, it's the older ones that can be very hit and miss. This one on the whole would have been fine where it not for the issue with bed clothes which knocks a mark off the overall rating. I am happy however to accept that this may have been a one off, but can only give an honest account of my experience there. I'd be more than happy to give this one a second go however.

Room Tip: Take ear plugs to block out the sound of the trains.

We paid £40 for this and for that price in the location we think it was a good deal. We had read previous reviews about the noise etc so went equipped with ear plugs. We had also been sent an email from the company stating they were refurbing the hotel, with new beds etc. arrived at 2.30 and were told that check in was 3pm and we could wait in the bar area, in order that we weren't charged for early check in. Receptionist was okay, friendly. We were allocated a room which overlooked the road and park to the front. It is a noisy road, but the double glazing was ok. The room was clean, there were only 3 pillows, but an additional one was sent up. The bathroom was very clean and newly painted, with a strange red tiled shower. The location was ok, there was a sainsburys next to the tube station, which was about 5 mins walk away. The TV was too small for the room.
You should know what you are getting when you book a Travelodge and this delivered. Would return and would recommend.

I stayed here for one night and was very impressed by the cleanliness of the room and the professional, friendly attitude of reception staff. I think this could be a new Travlodge as eveything seemed in great condition. I would def recommend this for a short break and its very close to tube station to get into central london.

Didn't know what to expect from Travel Lodeg but was well pleased, brill hotel, slick and span everywhere. Close to tube and local bare restaurants and supermarket. Lively part of town but it is London. We had room on second floor and noise was not an issue, beck room mind. If in London again, no when in Londonb again this hotel will be top of my search list

Room Tip: At back on lower floors
