A group of work colleagues - 5 of us - visited on Friday night and the feedback from all of us was slightly different. 3 loved all three course whilst 2 found the main course 'different', one enough to not eat any of it! One earlier review comments that this is not for fussy eaters and I would agree. Small, changed daily menu may also not help. Go on their website to get an idea. Wouldn't put anyone off but just be aware of this. Great service, the waitresses are attentive (and hot!!!!). Go if you want to be a little adventerous.

It's a by the numbers trendy modern English restaurant with rustic / industrial interior. On the cold night we were there the disadvantage of having glass for three of the walls became obvious as the room never really warmed up properly.

The selection of beers from the Meantime brewery was excellent though you pay £7 for not quite a pint. The two course fixed menu was £21 though the cost of the ingredients was very obviously a lot less. The crab starter was pleasant but not large. A ham hock pie had a lovely pastry but not very much of it and the slithers of ham, while delicious, were not numerous. An oddly flavoured bubble and squeak (I think) side dish didn't really compliment the pie. The squash and chickpea dish was judged as "nothing to write home about" and while the apple crumble was delicious it couldn't really compensate for the disappointment of what had proceeded it.

An overcharge on the bill was put right without fuss but as if offering a teabag in a cup isn't bad enough, charging £2 for it is just cheeky.

Large space, lovely staff, and an interesting menu with locally sourced ingredients. Perfect for a Sunday brunch.

This is a lovely restaurant with a small menu of delicious things! If you're a fussy eater the limited menu may be difficult for you. There were 4 of us, 2 non meat eaters and we all had a fantastic meal. The staff were really friendly and the quality of food was superb. A lovely, relaxed atmosphere too.

went for dinner a couple of weeks ago - Bethnal Green is not my neck of the woods so it's always hard to find nice places to eat - the pumpkin soup was delicious, as was the cheese scone that went with it - fishcakes were equally great and attentive, courteous service - would say i'd go back, but not sure when i'll venture into East London again!
