CAMRA’s South East London pub 2013 and one of the UK’s Top 150 Local Real Ale Pubs, the Catford Bridge Tavern looks – on the outside – like a Tudor-style country mansion that might be better placed by some rural village green, with the sound of cricket balls clacking on wood and birds tweeting…

Fortunately for Catfordians it’s slap bang next to Catford’s two train stations, and has put Catford in the borough of Lewisham (not one of London’s most prosperous areas by any means) firmly on the map.

Went here for dinner and then stayed to play the quiz. Really lovely pub, good atmosphere, nice food - finally somewhere decent to go in Catford!

Overall this gastropub is good. Pity about the lack of vegetarian options. Rather boisterous crowd present yet the open plan layout works well. Worth a visit. Check the specials.

Took my American sister -in -law to this pub which is a regular for me when in S E London. Great choice of beers, cider but also fantastic food and and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. My sister-in-law loved the atmosphere and quirky interior which is quite unique!

Right on the doorstep of Catford Bridge station, hence a suprise! Great atmosphere, good choice of ale - I had the NZ pale ("brewed by a chick") which was good. Welcoming and attentive staff. Pleasantly brief gastro menu, the potted crab with sourdough bread was superb. Not much outdoor seating, right on the main road, my only criticism
