This newly opened hotel is in a great location. 200mtrs from Southwark tube station. There is also a bus stop to take you into the centre or £10 for a cab to the Strand. As the hotel is newly opened all the facilities are in good condition. The style of rooms are still all the same Ibis arrangements. In particular the Shower Pods. The beds are for me a little hard but still comfortable. The room heating system is fast and efficient. The breakfast is one of the best buffet breakfasts I have had. The staff are very welcoming and are trained to a good level.
Once IBIS upgrade all their hotels to this standard they will be as good as their sister brand Novotel.

Two of us stayed at the Ibis Blackfriars for one night during mid week; check in was swift and simple; rooms were very clean; Staff were very polite; hairdryer in the room; kettle in the room; flat screen TV in the room; Southwark station is less than 1 min walk, or the city is 5-10 min walk over Blackfriars Bridge. Shared a platter which was good, cannot comment on the drinks as did not have any.

Overall was a very enjoyable stay and would return. The room we had was cosy, however, we were only there for one night so was not a problem.

A highly functional, no nonsense, well-positioned hotel. Easy access to Jubilee Line (Southwark) in just a couple of minutes. Very clean, small room. Perfect for business or overnight stop. Excellent price for location and convenience.

Have recently returned from 3 night stay at this hotel. It is in an excellent spot on the southbank, two minute walk from nearest tube and approx 5 minutes to Blackfriars Bridge and the path along the Thames from which you can walk one way towards Tower Bridge and the other way towards the London Eye and Houses of Parliament.

All staff were very friendly and welcoming and the bed was very comfortable although we found the room to be too hot (even during this recent very cold spell) and actually had to put the air-con on! The bathroom can only be described as a capsule and we actually referred to it as the tardis and it was certainly not soundproof!

Very good breakfast although found the oblong plates to be cumbersome, and the first morning when we went down around 8.30 and found the place to be full of young business people obviously staying there before attending some conference or other, we decided to go later for breakfast and it was much quieter.

All in all we had a good stay but as older travellers would probably not use the hotel again as we found it far too modern - even had the latest tweets being projected onto the breakfast room wall while we were eating. A great hotel for the young business people who were in the majority as guests though.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor room away from the stret noise of Blackfriars Road.

As I have said, the Hotel is a very good hotel strategically located in the beautiful Blackfriars Bridge so, very close walking to everything: The London Eye, the Parliament, Big Ben, Wetminster, London Bridge, London Tower etc. etc.

The Hotel personnel is very warm and it shows that they want to offer you the best service. My personal greetings especially goes to the Spanish (Sevillan) Chema Cortes who greatly helped us with some very relevant information about London's ptclb.

We were two business man staying there from Sunday January 20 to Wednesday January 23.
