“great burger and chips”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

Great burgers big and taste, good bun that does not break and a thick piece of meat, I had the honest burger; the chips are amazing rosemary salted full of flavour. The staff are friendly and attentive. For me the burger could have been slightly more cooked it was more rare than medium rare. We sat outside so we did not have to wait for a table but everyone waiting seemed to be in good spirits.

“The best burgers, amazing chips too.”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

These burgers are as good as they hype, rich beefy flavour and very juicy, and happily they cook them medium rare unlike many places now. The rosemary chips are like nothing else, very crunchy and full of flavour, the perfect match to the burger. It's also very cheap for the area and for the quality of food you're getting.

It is a pretty rustic place, fairly small too but a good atmosphere. There is always a long wait (plan to eat there about an hour after you arrive to put your name down), but as long as you plan for this and go to a decent pub nearby (of which there are many), this isn't a problem, and the waiting system is ingenious (you'll get a text or phone call).

Can't wait til my next visit!

“Very good”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

Went for the Honest Burger and was very impressed. The salted fries were also a treat, especially when considered they are included in the price! Handy text service you to alert when a table is available was also a plus.
Will visit again soon!

“I walked out :(”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

I've never done this in my life but today I went to Honest Burger, was seated, ordered, then waited 25 mins after ordering and nothing arrived, lots of other (later) tables getting their orders. I asked the server (after having to catch her attention) who apologised and said '2 mins' but 10 more mins went by so eventually I'm sorry to say I did a Michael Winner and just got up and left.

No one even asked where I was going.

Staff didn't seem to really care.

Place 3/4 full, 3pm.

Shame. Honest is doing well off the little London burger fad but with that attitude to customers it'll never be a Byron.

“Could do a little bit better”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

the praise heaped on this place seems well-deserved, particularly the service and the table allocation are very good.
went solo so got a table in a jiffy. the food arrived in no time (stilton burger/chips/house red) and the patty was delicious.
the main drawbacks loosing the 5th star were the portion size (really not big enough for a grown man, the smallest patty i have seen) and the chips - over-seasoned and (some of them) seemingly cooked more than once (or twice).
overall an ok experience. not sure it should be 51st out of all London restaurants though....
