“Great Business Stay- Everything You Need!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

I went to London for a week on business and staying at the new Go Native Hyde Park was a perfect choice. Perfectly situated, close to a few different metro stops which made it easy to get to meetings throughout the city.

The apartment had recently been updated and the studio suite I stayed in, #206 had everything you would expect for business travel; a great kitchen area, comfortable bed, fantastic shower, great little work station, etc. Modern and very spacious for one person! The staff was very accommodating, I had a minor issue with my room key locking me out a few times but the girls at the desk were very pleasant, friendly and helpful.

This was my first city apartment experience and I would highly recommend it for anyone who is looking at having more than just a normal hotel room set up. Great little property, I will definitely be back the next time I´m in London!!!

Fully fitted kitchen with washing machine, separate sitting room and a comfortable bed within a few minutes walk of the heathrow express at paddington. I'll definitely stay in a serviced apartment again

Room Tip: I had a room at the back of the building which was very quiet

We relocated back to London and needed a serviced apartment for a month right around the time of the Olympic Games. The booking was confirmed for a two bedroom apartment. Prior to arriving, we were notified that we had been downgraded to a 'large' one bedroom, as the two-bed had a staircase. Go Native thought the staircase might not be safe for our toddler, but failed to consult with us, and went ahead and downgraded us even after we requested to stay in the two-bed. We were re-assured that the large one-bed would be very spacious and have plenty of room for a family of three.

Imagine our shock, when we then arrived to find what can only be described as an extremely small one-bed. The bedroom was so small that only a 'slimline' double/large single (120cm wide) would fit. The supposed lounge area didn't have space for a sofa, but instead had two rather uncomfortable chairs along with the wardrobe. The kitchen had a decent sized dining table, but the tiniest kitchen.

After two nights we were able to move to another unit, which was marginally better. Normal sized bed and kitchen/living space was slightly more spacious. The actual kitchen itself was again clearly not meant to be used for cooking. Small and dark - we had to ask for an extra lamp to be able to see what we were cooking, and the counter space was non-existent.

On the positive side, the location is absolutely wonderful. In-between Lancaster Gate and Paddington Stations and just by Hyde Park. Lovely area.

As this was a corporate booking, the Go Native account exec did make some effort to rebook us into another of their properties with better facilities and more space. However, it didn't work out in terms of dates.

All in all, we were very disappointed with the apartments and the way Go Native handled our booking. For a short holiday, I think these apartments might be adequate, provided you eat outside. However for the price I would rather stay in a hotel. If you are after the facilities normally available in a serviced apartment, these apartments are simply not good enough. They look nice, but it is all style over substance.

My one night stay in London was made very enjoyable and fuss free due to the ease and location of Go Native Hyde Park. Although small, the studio room I selected was comfortable, well provisioned and ideal for one person. The bathroom shower was top notch and the bed very comfortable. My room was in the back of the building with zero noise. The person at the front desk was a delight. Very considerate and helpful, she created a warm sense of both style and service and went out of her way to accommodate requests such as luggage storage, restaurant recommendations etc. People should not confuse this property with a hotel type experience. I would say for the person who is not phased by cramped quarters yet who demands modern, stylish and clean conveniences and a crash pad for the basics, this is a quality option.

Booked this self-catering apartment through Laterooms. All the photos give the impression of reasonable sized apartments, which I'm sure some of them are, but not ours.
This was marketed as "Studio Apartment Double Room Sleeps 2". Technically correct, but here are some thoughts that you might bear in mind if you are thinking of booking:
1. The "double" bed was 4ft wide. Cramped for sleeping two people.
2. There is no sofa or comfy chair(s). Just one plastic chair. No table. If you eat you have to sit on the bed and put your plate on your lap.
3. The microwave/combination oven was mounted on the wall, but no socket was in reach for the plug!

To be fair, the finish on the apartment (except the microwave issue above) and cleanliness etc is excellent. All fittings to a good standard, milk in fridge, spotlessly clean.

Would we stay again? Not in that apartment, for the money we paid I would expect something bigger. If cost isn't an option then the bigger, more expensive, options are probably OK.

Room Tip: Find out exactly how big your room is before booking.
