Nothing bad to say. Cleaners must work 24/7 as hotel is spotless (& I have high standards).
Food lovely and very affordable.
Professional service all round.
Made a business trip to excel quite enjoyable.

The rooms are well appointed but rooms 1 and 2 are near the night time access door and are subject to noise from inconsiderate guests and staff.
As mentioned the rooms are smart the food is good and the service is polite.
Just let down by the inability to get a good night’s sleep.

On business at ExCel, I and my colleague stayed in 2 rooms of this small hotel.
The rooms have recently been refurbished to a very high standard.
We stayed in rooms 5 & 6 which were spacious and well appointed, both had a settee and 5 had a table and benches too. This was in addition to chairs and a desk.
It doesn't have a lift but there are only 2 floors.
Both had background heating plus full air-conditioning.
Shower room and toilet were well equipped and roomy, all towels were high quality cotton.
The staff were always smiling and helpful. Brilliant breakfasts.
Fully recommend it.

Stayed here four nights whilst working at the ExCel arena and I was very impressed with the staff whom were all lovely, happy to help and nice to chat to. If you appreciate good service where you stay then you won't be disappointed.

Location is perfect for ExCel, with a 2 minute walk to the East entrance of the arena. Free on-site parking that should be ample for people staying. Nice relaxing bar area if you want a drink and Sky Sports... and the restaurant food was very, very good. Far and above what I'd expect at other hotels and it was something to look forward to after a hard day at the arena!

I only had 2 gripes with our stay, hence it not receiving 5 stars:

- We were not informed before arrival that, out of our 4 nights stay, the bar/restaurant had been booked by a party of people for 2 of them, meaning we would not be able to use any of these facilities. This really, really irritates me; if you're paying for a full encompassing service, surely you should receive some kind of compensation where the entire relaxing and eating side of the hotel is unavailable for you... let alone be informed of it when you're booking as we may have looked elsewhere.

- My room, though nicely kitted out and very clean, had a double bed that was made up of 2 single mattresses. I'm not sure if you've ever tried sleeping on one like this, but the mattresses slip apart no matter what you do and leave a very uncomfortable crack in the middle which you will inevitably roll into when sleeping. Safe to say I did not have a single good nights sleep. My 2 colleagues both had proper mattresses so not sure why I didn't, but it ruined an otherwise good experience.

I'd definitely recommend this place though (and the treacle pudding in the restaurant), but make sure to get a proper mattress and check the bar activities will definitely be open....

We spent two nights whilst visiting the Boat Show for the weekend.
The ground floor is a well organised pub that serves good quality traditional pub fare. The hotel room was fairly small, but of a high standard - must have been recently refurbished. The staff were very responsive to all our needs - an ironing board, extra milk for tea, adjusting the heater - all done very quickly and with a smile. It's the staff that really make this place.
The hotel is surrounded by roads & is near the City airport - but the room was perfectly peaceful behind it's double glazing.
No complaints....maybe the heater controls were a little too complex for me :-)

Room Tip: There's no lift, so if you don't fancy 3 flights, ask for a lower floor

Myself & my partner stopped for 1 night, as we were going to an Event at the ExCel. This Hotel really is close, you can see the ExCel from the Hotel - it's 3 minutes over the road. So a great location if your going to the ExCel. Also a 5 minute walk to the rail way station - so you can get to anywhere in London.
On arrival we entered via the Bar & were greeted by a very lovely & friendly guy. He gave us lots of information, showed us around the Hotel how to get in at night, how to get to places & showed us to our room & even turned our heating off for us. He couldn't have been nicer or more helpful if he tried - so thank you VERY much!! (Sorry i don't recall your name) The room was very clean, a little small due to it being a corner room but fine for what we needed. The bed was very comfy! Only downside is hearing the Airplanes from the airport - but we were only in our room for a brief time so not such an issue! Parking was fine - although the Hotel next door charge to park so i noticed some people from there parking in our car park! We had Breakfast in the Pub in the morning, it was very nice but a little over priced in my opinion. Over all a great stay & i would return!

I loved the quaint look of this hotel however this came with a downside , the windows rattled with every gust of wind and kept waking me up through the night.
I would also have slept better if the staff hasn't emptied the glass recycling into the bin directly underneath my window at 12.15 then again at 12.40.
Also the room was freezing cold and as the heater was linked to the key card system in the room when we came in from our night out the room took over an hour to warm up.
Minor points but when you can't sleep due to the noise and the cold they seem huge.

This said the staff were really friendly , the bar was well stocked , the food delicious and the atmosphere in the bar was good.
