A family trip to London is always a financial challenge for us poor and forgotten northerners!! We are really feeling the pinch, so we always look out for the bargains. Having eaten at Cote in Covent Garden before, we thought we`d try and find one near the Haymarket. We had booked for a pre-theatre meal on Friday at 5pm.We got the same helpful and warm greeting and were quickly shown to our seating. An attractive little booth with soft seats. The selection from the set menu was varied. The terrine was great, the soup tasty and the calamari was ample. The house white wine is good quality and reasonably priced - so we had two bottles!!! The main course of Cod was super - just like the best fresh fish landed in Filey. The steaks were as tasty as ever. Simple food cooked well and presented with care, followed by crème caramel which is the best I have tasted. All this for around £100 for five of us including the service charge. This chain of restaurants have found the formula and I hope the can ensure the quality across all their outlets. We plan a trip to York over Xmas and hope that it is as good.

Once again a great ex sample of a cote. Good food, great service.

We had the duck and lamb. Both very good, neither of us would share!

We usually love this chain but Wardlour st just wasn't the same. Service erratic, no genuine engagement or interest , food above average but still not as good as the others. It was very busy which may explain it but will return to Convent Garden

had a weekend in London at the theatre. went there for a pre-theatre meal and had a wonderful time. Food was very good, service fantastic and value was excellent. a bottle of wine for £16 which was good value for London prices. The staff were very friendly and eager to serve us. we will visit there again.

Not great for my cholesterol level but had the Assiette de Charcuterie and the Confit de Canard. Both were great. Staff were friendly and service was good. I felt that the menu was good value for the quality. This was my first experience in a Cote Brasserie but definitely not the last. Only one comment, the table was a little small
