I went to Akkadia in Kensington High Street today and enjoyed some first class Lebanese food.

The Shish Kebab was the best lamb I have ever tasted in a Lebanese restaurant and the Mezze selection was very good.

The service was friendly and efficient and I would recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for good food at a reasonable price.

We (vegetarian family of four) found this restaurant by accident, and very glad we were, too. They have a large selection of vegetarian dishes, far too many to try in one visit. I particularly recommend the roasted Halloumi and the Mezze platter, as well as the freshly pressed fruit juices and the minty lemonade. Overall, great food and service!

Looking for lunch in Kensington on a Saturday, our group of four had trouble finding a restaurant or cafe with room for us but eventually we grabbed the last vacant table in Akkadia, at 221 Kensington High Street. The main menu was impressive, with plenty of choice for vegetarians, and the prices seemed very reasonable for a restaurant in such a position. Since we only wanted a snack, we all decided to choose from the list of a dozen sandwiches, all served in Lebanese bread with tomato and pickles. Between us we had the mixed shawarma, falafel, makanek (sausage) and halloumi cheese sandwiches -- all priced at less than £4. All four were delicious, as were the perfectly cooked French fries and the Lebanese house wine that we ordered to accompany them. The staff were friendly and efficient and seemed to enjoy their work. The place was spotless and well fitted out. Even the toilets were impressive. We would certainly eat there again.

We came across this spot on our first night in London. Service was excellent and the variety and flavor of the offerings were great. Many locals were eating there and enjoying also.
