“Great views-better than the london eye!”
Reviewed August 25, 2013 via mobile

If, for some odd reason, you are considering taking a ride on the London eye...then think again! The Emirates-Royal Docks is pretty cheap and views are great once you leave the station and London's eye-opening view over horizon is easily visible once airborne! I would recommend taking your Oysters (if you have any) and, to avoid the rush, going on a week day.

“Fantastic views but a bit out of the way...”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We went as a group of seven, so didn't have to share a cable car. We chose to go from Royal Victoria to North Greenwich. Luckily it was a bright day with very little wind and the cars felt remarkably safe. I have heard that it can be quite different if it is windy as the cars will shake. Great views over the Thames. The only drawback is that there is very little else to do in the area, so it means making a trip (as we did) for virtually just one thing. That could be why it was virtually deserted. There were no queues but it was a bit pricey for what it was. Combine it with a trip to the Thames Barrier to make it worth the journey.

“A Great Way to Cross The Thames”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

Great transport link across The Thames with fantastic views thrown in especially of the O2, Olympic Park, Canary Wharf and the Thames Barrier, different perspectives from the other high viewing points in London. More reasonably priced than other attractions and you can use your Oyster card too! All in all good value for an attraction and transport link all in one!

“A very smooth ride with views of the Olympic Park and the O2”
Reviewed August 23, 2013 via mobile

We went as a group of 7 and got a cabin to ourselves, smaller groups would have to share. It takes just 7 mins to go from north to south terminal so not much time to see the view (more later). It's not included in your travel card but you do get a discount. Even in the school holidays the journey was mercifully short, about 15 mins from ticket office to getting on board. The big downside on this trip is that the view is pretty limited to the Olympic Park (in the distance), O2, the Thames Barrier and... Lots of building sites and houses. I grew up in East London and even i struggled to spot places of interest. If you want fast take the DLR via Canning Town, if you want views go on the London Eye. The plus side was watching the water sports going on in the dock, including the amazing jet lev!

“short ride but fun to do at a good price”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

not so much a ride but a way of getting form the train to one of the Olympic site. the trip is not too expensive and it is all well organised and clean. children would enjoy the 'ride' over the river. good view to London city airport and the gate of the Thames
