We went to this place really late in the evening around 22:20 for a meal and had great food and service. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and immaculately presented. I had been dying to go to this place since I read about it in a magazine and now that I have been I will be recommending it to all my friends.
We ordered sea bass, a tofu and vegetable dish and some more gai lan greens and coconut rice. I think the seabass had a kind of oniony- balachan- sambal topping with spring onion, IT WAS AMAZING and had a really nice balance of flavours.
The tofu dish was discs of soft fried tofu which came on a bed of greens, edamame and some other salted brown beans which I don't know the name of (soy maybe?) but they taste amazing.
The rice was served in really cute cylindrical boxes but was a little bit cold, but I think this had something to do with us arriving so late at night. To be honest this didn't bother me because we were so late but I know most restaurant enthusiasts would be unhappy about this.
Our dessert was banana spring roll, this was really delicious the pastry was crisp and the filling was really flavoursome, banana, chocolate and hint of cinnamon. It was served with ice cream, a strawberry and a dusting icing sugar. A really lovely dish.
We ordered a non-alcholic cocktail I think it was a Berry Mojito which was nice, some prosecco- just for fun and some white tea (a strange mix of beverages, I know) but all were very nice.
All the food was served beautifully and the waiters came over twice to ask if we enjoyed the food and if we needed anything.
One more lovely detail about this meal, we were given complimentary lemongrass juice/ tea, this was a nice, refreshing chilled beverage and we were also given some complimentary condiment it was like some sort of coconut sambal.
I went to the toilets in this restaurant and they were very nicely decorated, had lovely soap and of course everything was new and clean.
Overall a really stylish restaurant with lovely food and service. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes Asian style food. I'll be going there again and think the hotel is probably really great too.
