Owner description: The RAF Benevolent Fund is proud and privileged to be the custodian of the new Bomber Command Memorial in central London. The memorial has been built to be modern, yet classical, in Portland stone. At its heart are the bronze sculptures of a Bomber Command aircrew. Within the memorial, the space is open to the sky with an opening designed to allow light to fall directly onto sculptures of the aircrew.

It was one of the most moving memorials I have seen. Not just the truly lifelike sculptures of the Aircrew of Bomber Command, but all the personal tributes and messages that had been left around. We all owe those men so much...

Read the notes left and go at night it's just fantastic and very moving. How lucky we are that these brave souls risked their lives and many lost their lives night after night to protect us.

If your in the Hyde PK corner area of London, take a look at this new memorial. It was only opened last year!

This is worth a visit, an amazing piece of artwork to pay respects to some heroes who have been overlooked for far too long. A very moving experience

After seeing the unveiling on TV we really wanted to see the memorial, it didn't disappoint, a fantastic piece of sculpture. We were glad to see quite a few people there, shame there wern't more seats though as there were a lot of old soldiers visiting who would of be glad of a seat to rest and contemplate.
