Owner description: The RAF Benevolent Fund is proud and privileged to be the custodian of the new Bomber Command Memorial in central London. The memorial has been built to be modern, yet classical, in Portland stone. At its heart are the bronze sculptures of a Bomber Command aircrew. Within the memorial, the space is open to the sky with an opening designed to allow light to fall directly onto sculptures of the aircrew.

“Bomber Command Memorial”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

This is a fantastic memorial, long overdue and well worth a visit. Staying at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in Kensington, we walked through Hyde Park to the Memorial and were lucky enough to see the Household Cavalry training in full dress.

“Excellent tribute to the Bomber Command W.W. II”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

Wonderful statue of a World War II bomber crew. Outstanding work and accuracy created this touching tribute. Located in Green Park and easy to reach via underground. The top of the memorial is open in order see the sky. Worth a visit.

“Magnificent!”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

I did not know of this memorial when my wife and I were walking from Hyde Park to Buckingham Palace and we were literally blow away by this beautiful monument. Being the son of a RCAF officer, who spent 3 years in England during the war in Bomber Command at Linton, this memorial touched me deeply. The characters portrayed are so beautifully, realistically done, it is overwhelming to see the faces of the four figures. The surrounding work is so tastefully done. This is a monument well worth seeking out, even if you have nothing connecting you to the Airforce, as it is so beautifully done....you can't help but be moved by what you see. What a wonderful statement it makes.

“Stunning”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

RAF Bomber Command lost over 55,000 in WWII. This memorial is dedicated to them. Most of these flight crews were teenagers. Impressive sculpture depicts a flight crew. Take time to read the small tributes left by family members.
