The art deco interior is a must go to for opulent atmosphere. Service helpful and staff able to give us bit of history of the building.
Food was a little disappointing as over cooked for a few of us. We were in a party of eleven but they were very attentive. Would recommend a visit to enjoy the decadence.
Foyer staff need to be a bit more friendly. Not selling it really. Asked about the cabaret and they weren't very receptive. Indifferent, not what you want if you had any Interest in coming along for an evening.

“Bougeouis Bistro from the Bel Epoque”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

This is a real French restaurant. They have a "prix fixe" menu, 3 different kinds of choucroute, real French bread and the kind of service that ensures that you are never without anything without you ever noticing. Eight of us had 3 excellent courses each, wine, 2 cognacs and 3 coffees for just over £30 a head, which is pretty difficult to do in Piccadilly Circus. And all in the surroundings of the old Atlantic Bar & Grill. Very fin de siecle, very good, and very much to be returned to.

“A Little Gem”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

We found this place totally by chance whilst looking for pre theatre dinner. What an amazing experience. The service was swift and professional, the food excellent and we returned to The Bar american after the show and again were pleasantly surprised. It is clearly very popular as it was very busy however they could fit us in without a pre booking. Would definitely return

“Surprise”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

,This restaurant is situated just next to Piccadilly Circus underground (Exit 1), bang in the middle of the tourist belt, is located down two floors into the sub basement and you might reckon that it's not sounding too good. You would be misled. The place is just right. The smiling 'meeter and greeter' staff is the first impact - good warm feeling - the art deco unbelievable and the menu very reasonably priced. The most surprising of all is that there is not a recognisable tourist in sight - all or mostly all are business people meeting others, ladies and gents meeting their chums and no loud chattering or noisy children. Very civilised, The food was again surprisingly good and the service was quietly smooth efficient and unperturbed. Just go and be surprised but it might be safer to book Telephone Nr 020 7734 4888.

“Great venue,food average to good.”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

The venue is beyond expectation, they even have a small theatre for jazz and other music, booking recommended for large parties, I have been there on 3 occasions over the last 6 months,I have to say the menu could be a bit more imaginative, although it is a brasserie rather than a fancy French restaurant. Food is OK as long as you do not expect Michelin star cooking.
Overall, if you main aim is food, there are other places, if if you want good atmosphere, it is certainly a 'Wow' place.
