“Another great place to stay in London”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

We booked this hotel as our favourite Premier Inn in Victoria was fully booked with the Family Rooms. So with intrepidation we booked but we weren't dissapointed. I arrived with my children first and was greeted immediatly and booked in in minutes. Very pleasant welcome and plenty of the useful info provided. Off to our room 501. A corner room and perhaps a little squeezed with a double and two singles down one side but they are just beds and we are a family so not a problem. The room otherwise is a nice size, modern and clean. Went to collect my wife from the station and the staff asked if I needed any info on the way out, nice service.

We later had a nice drink in the bar but were too late for food. This was not a problem as the staff offered to order pizza or direct me to the nearest food outlet. There is a Tesco Express next door but that was closed.

Ok location is excellent. About a ten minute max walk from Southwark tube (with kids and cases). Easy access to the river by foot and all it's attractions. All in all a great location. Breakfast was lovely but found the buffet finished at 10am but you could still order what you wanted cooked till 11.30 and we did lol. Oh and when we wanted more pillows they we brought to the room promptly.

Overall lovely hotel and location and yes we will use it again.

Just returning home to Edinburgh from 2 night stay. Lovely, modern, clean hotel with very friendly staff. We got room on top (8th) floor which had a view of the Shard. Extremely comfy bed and pillows. Location? Ideal. Walks to Underground Stations not too far and we walked into Covent Garden across Blackfriars Bridge and along the embankment. There is a Tesco right next door to the hotel which is handy for any snacks/drinks.

Have just returned from a three day trip to London. First time in the Premier Inn Tate Modern but will definately stay there again. Friendly, helpful service from every member of staff we encountered from the restauarant manager who chatted to us about our planned trip to Greewich to the young member of housekeeping staff who carried our suitcase to the lift for us. Clean, well maintained room , nice breakfast and great night's sleep ... I wish I knew where they get their pillows. Really good location to get about . Just a few minutes walk from Southwark tube station. This is my fourth of fifth stay at a Premier Inn and I don't think you can beat them for the consistency of service and product.

Beware! The water pipes in this hotel are VERY noisy. I had already asked to move rooms because of noise from the lifts, so I felt too embarrassed to complain a second time. However, the noise from the pipes woke us up before it was light and severely affected the quality of our stay.

Service was good, staff are attentive and the hotel is very clean. The room facilities are average as you'd expect for a budget hotel... a hairdryer that actually dries hair would be a bonus in winter. Food very average (similar to a chain pub - little for vegetarians). There are better options on the main high street, including a cafe round the corner that serves a great cooked breakfast for a fraction of the price.

The location is ideal for the Tate Modern, but if I came back, I would try one of the other hotels (there are four within 50 yards of this one) with the hope of getting a better night's sleep.

We arrived on Sunday for two nights and couldn't have had a better experience. The staff were so friendly and efficient, although we had planned to eat out we had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and didn't really need lunch!

Our 3 year old was more than well catered for, in particular one waitress in the restaurant was a firm favourite and got lots of cuddles.

The room was well appointed, nice and spacious, clean etc. nothing was too much trouble and when I had to ask for extra pillows to support my 7month pregnancy bump they were in the room within half an hour!

Only a few minutes walk from Southwark tube station which has lifts and full access for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Two minutes from the Tate Modern and not far from London Eye, Sealife etc.

I really can't rate this hotel highly enough and will be returning in the future.

First time we have taken our children to London for the weekend. A busy half term but staff were brilliant. Friendly, organised and calm.

Rooms were excellent - we were given two side by side - very clean, comfortable and quiet.

Food was great - the kids really enjoyed the breakfast and the traffic light system indicating how busy the place gets really helped us to plan our stay.

Fab location.
