“Definitely would book again!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

I stayed during the Olympics, and I can say that the hotel exceeded my expectations. The room is small, but it was enough for me. The hotel opened recently, so everything is new, and it's located a 5 minute walk from Paddington Station. Other thing that impressed me during my stay was the cleanliness and kindness of the staff. The wifi that I bought with the comfort package worked very well. Finally, there are a Tesco 24 hour, a Superdrug and a Pret near the hotel.
In other words, I would book again Tune Paddington definitely!!

The you get what frills you pay for approach means you don't get what you don't need. If you're happy with a small, but clean room in a central location, this offers good value for money.

NB - If you get a safe, just follow the very simple instructions, as otherwise you may have to wait for it to reset (15 mins!)

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking your time to write a review about our hotel and rating us as an excellent place to stay. I am also pleased that our concept was suitable for you. Sometimes, all you really need from a hotel is a hot shower and a good night's rest at very affordable prices without compromising comfort and cleanliness. That is exactly what Tune Hotels is all about. It was a pleasure to have you staying with us and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you back soon.

As title says we got a good bargain on this during the Olympic Games. I was a bit apprehensive given the reasonable price but everything was good.

Reception staff are pleasant and helpful. It's an old building which was recently renovated. The rooms are bright and clean. Double beds are on the small size. Twin rooms are more spacious. Clothes storage is limited. The business model is that you pay for your bed and everything else is extra. So you pay for toiletries, cleaning and even towels. Once you're ok with this it works.

The location (300m from Paddington Station) is great for getting around the city? I'd recommend it for a 2/3 night stay if you've room for a towel in your bag:)

We stayed at the Tune Hotel-Paddington for 2 nights. We got a great deal on ex pedia that included things that are normally add-ons (towels, shampoo, internet, tv). This location is new and is fabulously clean & neat. We would recommend that if you stay here that you fully understand how the Tune hotels work, but if you understand it going in, it can be a great value & a great stay. The difference about Tune hotels--you can rent a towel (or bring your own or do without), purchase shampoo (again, or bring your own or do without), pay extra for early check-in or late check out, pay extra for tv, air conditioning, or internet. We found that this location was very up-front about the fees, which was refreshing. Our package included almost everything, which was for a FANTASTIC value for London. Upon arrival, I expected we might have to show the paperwork to get all the "extras", but it was in their system & didn't even need to be told about them. In fact, once we found this deal, we canceled the hotel we'd already booked for those 2 nights. Another great feature for this hotel is that if you get in early, you can pay 2 pounds for them to keep your luggage until you return to check-in. Since we arrived in London at 8 am, this was a great feature for us that prevented us from paying the steeper early check-in fee or dragging our luggage around Hyde Park. The hotel is quite close to Paddington station, so we found it to be convenient for both rail and tube travel. The street side rooms can have some noise at night, but we were tired enough that it didn't bother us. We were really happy with our stay and would definitely stay there again if we needed a place to stay in London. The staff was also quite helpful & friendly. Would recommend to anyone needing a place to stay in London!

Room Tip: For light sleepers, you might ask if there is a room available that doesn't face the street.

Spotlessly clean, modern and friendly hotel. The location was good less than 5 minutes walk from Edgware Road Tube Station lots of coffee shops a supermarket and an M&S on your doorstep.
The Hotel was easy to find from the Tube. We had a professional and friendly welcome. Our room was very clean, modern and comfortable. The rooms are small but we were expecting that. We had everything we needed. Air conditioning which is always a must in London. We were a bit apprehensive about not having a window (the cheaper rooms) but as most people don't spend loads of time in there room and there was Air Con it wasn't a problem. There were a few problems though we were in the basement and the underground seemed to run directly below the hotel, obviously they can't help that but there was no mention of it on there website or any mention at check in which is disappointing, I think it should be made clear to guests as this was a significant problem luckily the trains stop around 1am which was only about an hour after we returned to our room but the trains do start again about 5am, so not ideal if you want an early night or a lay in. There was a banging sound which we can only describe as either a door slamming or someone kicking a door which happened every 3 minutes or so in the early hours We had a problem with the main light above the bed which when switched off the light shone green and was quite noticeable and it kept me awake leading to a poor nights sleep unfortunately. With regard to the check out, we have stayed at the other Budget hotels though I would agree Tune Hotel overall is better, we would of liked a later check out like the other hotels do, usually 12 Midday, we ended up paying the £15.00 to check out later which allows you to stay up to 1pm. When e checked out we were asked how our stay was, the lady behind the desk was very friendly, approachable and interested, we explained about the train noise, she apologised and said if we stayed again to ask for a room on a higher floor to avoid the train noise. We forgot to mention about the light in the room to the reception.

Room Tip: Don't take a room in the basement due to the train noise.

Very clean and tidy. Friendly, helpful staff. You get what you pay for - early check in (2 hours) cost a tenner. Only thing missing was a shaver socket in bathroom. If you are looking for somewhere clean and tidy just to sleep its perfect. Handy Tesco opposite open 24/7.

Room Tip: Not sure if higher rooms have less tube rumble!

This hotel is very much as they describe, small p but pleasant rooms, cheap stays and you pay for any extra absoluetly any extra, for example 20p per page to print something (although the one freebie is internet enabled PCs in the reception)m £2 per bag to leave a bag over.

Room is realy small, you really can't spend much time in it, it's difficult to walk around without bumping into things, bathroon too is tiny but very functional. Don;t book with someone you don't know too well as there will be no changing in the bathroom!

With this hotel being brand new, everything is brand new and well finished, I hope it stays that way or the gloss would go off this hotel for me.

Big problem is tube noise, well more of a rumble, well for us on floor 3 91 from the top) it was a rumble. i dread to think what it is like in lower floors, especially the below ground rooms without windows! You feel the rumble from early morning to 1am, although this is a hotel you crash out in after a busy day around London so we had no problem sleeping. Some annoying noise from the corridors, i think the walls are fairly thin but it.s more a case of selfish / ignorant people hacing no regard for other guests at 5am !

Would stay again. Location great too, it's actually cloers to the Edgewars Road tubes than Paddington and short walk to Marble Arch and the top end of Oxford Street. Tesco 24hr shop is across the road so that's handy for stocking up for breakfast etc.

Room Tip: Take as high a room as possible
