Staying in Sussex Gardens in London provides plenty of pub options for a good meal - this old lady provides one of the best. It's a small attractively kept pub obviously much loved by locals and tourists alike. It takes the classic English Pub menu and updates it just enough to make it special without becoming pretentious; couple this with friendly, knowledgeable service and a visit by an elderly chocolate Cocker Spaniel to our table and we had a relaxing, satisfying night after a long day out and about.

On our last night in London, my wife and I went to The Victoria (about 10 minutes from our hotel) for a relaxing pub experience. I wish we had gone there more: the atmosphere was very neat, clearly an upper-class establishment that has a lot of history. The food was all good (I remember sticky toffee pudding the most...), and the staff was jovial and attentive.

Most of all, we found The Victoria to be a good place to people watch. It seemed like about a 70/30 mix of locals and tourists, and made for an amusing last night in London.

We 4 tourists from Canada enjoyed our meal at the Victoria. Attractive pub off the "main drag" of Bayswater.Lots of room--there's an upstairs as well.

We returned there three times just for the fish and chips. Nice staff, extremally good food and service and a genuine brittish pub as non-brittish imaging a pub to be. Beautiful library and upper lounge. Beautiful athmosphere, children friendly, cosy, nice prices. A must see place.

I loved this place! The food were good and we got to sit right by a regular guest who lived in the neighborhood. He bought us small tastings of ale just to let us try the pub the "British way". We had a blast! The woman working in the bar were very nice and friendly!
