It is a very interesting hotel using hi-tech concepts. The design and colours give a modern and jolly ambience. The room is not big but the bed is really big and super comfortable. The toilet is spacious, with a small sink though. The shampoo/bath gel is divided into night and day with the day one more refreshing, very good idea. Everything is like brand new and clean. The air conditioner works very well too. Since it is not a traditional hotel, please do not expect a kettle or a mini bar full of drinks and snacks. However, there is a Marks & Spencer supermarket right across the street and quite a number of cafes nearby.

The hotel situates at the quiet side of a busy neighbourhood. The closest underground station is about 7 minutes' walk and there are some good restaurants in that area. I considered it a good location.

To be honest, we were not greeted by anybody at the reception (it was not manned at the time we arrived). We simply found out by ourselves how to check in on the computer provided and got our room card keys printed. Thus, we had no idea if the staff was nice.

I will give it another booking when I next come to London.

Oi Mei O

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on Trip Advisor. Delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay and would stay with us again, I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to London Bankside or perhaps as of this time next year our latest property at the Tower of London. I was disappointed to hear that you did have the chance to interact with any of the team here. At citizenM we have a mantra of affordable luxury, this means all the important touches of a great hotel with out the superfluous items that add cost. We see our ambassadors as an integral part of this mantra and whilst we use technology to deal with processes, like check in and check out, there should always be a friendly face to welcome you, make you a great cocktail or cup of coffee and wish you safe travels when you leave.

I look forward to welcoming you back to citizenM sometime soon and in the meantime, I wish you safe travels

citizenMatt

We first stayed at CitizenM last year, and then returned again this summer for our second stay. Our first impression was that the rooms are quite small - actually the width of the king size bed that sets at the far end of each room. But once you get beyond thinking the room is small, you do come to appreciate how efficient the use of space is with the bed, vanity and sink, shower and toilet, plus one chair and one sitting stool, plus a small table in each room - and a television mounted on the wall. We like citizenM. Our room was absolutely quiet and the bed comfortable. Breakfast each morning was excellent, and you can choose from buffet or a'la carte. We would describe the hotel as eclectic and contemporary, very clean, high tech with complimentary Wi-Fi throughout, worldwide toll-free outgoing calls, and extremely friendly and helpful staff. It's truly an oasis in the city, away from the hustle and bustle once you're through the doors, yet close to the action on the trendy South Bank. Tip: Become a citizen on the citizenM website before you make your reservation, and you'll get a better rate!! We also were treated to a couple of complimentary drinks in the bar (Canteen), likely because we became "citizens".

Room Tip: We chose a room that faced the inner courtyard, so it was absolutely quiet. There are also street fa...

Excellent hotel with a great concept. As a citizen, the discount is excellent and the free drinks vouchers can be used for anything on the menu; something we found very impressive.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the hotel is modern and clean. Love the concept, particularly the big bed, mood lighting and free films. Only downside was minor - sink outside the bathroom cubicle - but as part of the concept I guess it makes sense.

Overall an excellent stay, and we will be looking out for other CitizenM hotels around the globe.

Nice techy hotel with WiFi and IPad in the room which is small but sufficient. Good shower with rain-shower and colourfull lights.
Felt a bit locked up since the window cannot open and the temperature will not go lower than 17 C on the snazzy Ipad roomcontrols (and the hotel is already really warm from itself).
No kettle to make a cuppa and no bodylotion to complement the 2 different shower/shampoo products. For the price you pay I'd appreciated the option for internal and external moisturising.

The citzenM is situated just a short walk from either London Bridge or Blackfriars stations, on, what I consider, to be the best side of the River, South (Tate Modern, Borough Market, Oxo Tower etc...). It is a very quirky hotel, the commom areas are really comfortable and inviting, the staff friendly, polite, and efficient. It's an ideal place to stay for a short weekend break, but any longer and you may feel a bit cramped. The rooms, particularly the beds, are really comfortable, but small (except the bed!!!), and I do miss a cup of Tea in the morning, and unfortunately there are no facilities in the rooms for this. That being said, all in all I would have no problem staying here again, in fact as I vist London so often, it is highly likely.

I'd considered staying at citizenM previously but felt a little intimidated by the concept but decided to give it a go and felt at home from the time I checked in to the time I left.

There are many things I liked about this hotel e.g.
+ great staff
+ technology/lighting
+ air con
+ informality
+ 24hour canteenM
+ comfy bed
++ the ground floor area that had different furnished areas to suit different needs etc.
++ spacious ground floor public area
++ design/styling
++ the atrium
++ the beef curry
++ cleanliness
+ tariffs.

Things I didn't like:
- none.

Tips: the nearby Mercure Hotel serves nice food in their restaurant (The Loft) if you're after something a bit special (but pricier) locally. Avoid The Albion near Tate Modern.

It is a very modern hotel, everything being controlled by the tablet they provide. Glass wall bathroom, meaning that if you have to...go at night, you will wake up your partner because you can not turn a light on without the light reaching every corner of the room. First night at 3am the A/C in the ceiling started making a clicking sound accompanied by light flashes. It stopped after 5 minutes just when I was getting ready to go to the reception and ask for assistance. I informed them next morning but next night at 3am,,,,,same story. We didn't even bother telling them anymore getting used to our mid-sleep sound and light show. 10 minutes walk to London Bridge, 20 to London Eye and Parliament. The room size was exactly the width of a king-size bed (the bed was stretching wall to wall). For over $300/night should get more value! Next time in London will get a hotel further from the core area and just take the subway to the area.
