“Such a tiny room, but it's somehow absolutely fine?”

How do they pull that off?

Well, it's clean. The bed is huge. It's fairly quiet for central London. It's right next to Tate Modern. It's way nicer than the Waterloo Travelodge or the Premier Inn at Southwark. So, when I get to travel to London with work then this is my preference. The bar is very nicely laid out, you can get a table, a few power sockets, free fast wifi and sit and work all night in very friendly and relaxed surroundings.

Really superb staff too, kind of like you might find in an Apple store, seriously well trained to make you LOVE their product, you realise it's happening but they do it so well, it's fine.

Kind of like the room-pod, which is smaller than most hotel rooms, but the shower is nice, the samsung tablet to control the lighting is genuinely useful and a cool feature, and the temperature of the room is easily adjustable to personal preferences.

Cheers CitizenM! See you again.

Room Tip: I think you might be better off not facing the main road like I was, maybe one of the "inner&qu...

Checked in for 10 nights. Requested a quiet room, away from elevators.

The good/great:

- excellent staff overall. Especially a manager named Mark. One of the best hotel managers I've ever dealt with.
- clean, very clean
- nice size rooms, huge for London
- movies are free and it's a quite a decent selection
- free wi-fi
- nice bar/lobby area with computers that are free to use
- good vibe overall

What's keeping me from rating it Excellent? Well, they have this courtyard area inside where people can smoke. Even being on the 5th floor, the noise from this courtyard is quite annoying. I am a business traveler and I was woken up at 1am one night. Just about every night, I had to call the front-desk and ask them to lock the courtyard. It became more frustrating than just a minor annoyance. Also, the high-tech tablet gadget tends to freeze the TV. They know there are bugs and working through it. I can live with that.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't stay on the side of the hotel overlooking the courtyard.

I have to start by telling you that my company, Vitra, is a supplier to Citizen M.

That said, I have been using their new London hotel as a punter, for informal client meetings, for formal company meetings and, not surprisingly, as an hotel. Citizen M do all three things exceptionally well. The hotel rooms are bright, comfortable and incredibly functional with state of the art entertainment and lighting. The bed is a revelation. Downstairs they have really funky bar and break-out areas with self-service food and excellent fresh coffees etc. brought to you by the friendliest staff I have seen in a hotel for quite a while. Food is great, from a cooked breakfast to sushi to a Mars bar, if required!

On the first floor they have really high end meeting rooms which one rents by the day. The IT is top end and easy to use as are the built-in tea and coffee machine and the chilled water.

Finally, Citizen M makes a great place to meet after work for drinks and nibbles, really good atmosphere and very close to Borough Market if you want to go an and eat/drink elsewhere. Staff are truly exceptional.

All in all a terrific location and amazing value for money.

A hotel in an excellent location, with great looks, humour, style, panache and probably the world's most comfortable beds. We slept SO well. Loved the "rain shower" in the wet room - having picked a golden yellow light from the choice on the iPad, it felt like showering in tropical rain at sunrise. Finally had a lovely breakfast in very attractive surroundings. Check-in and check-out were both friendly, fast, and efficient. Altogether, highly recommended.

Room Tip: Receptionist will go through the choices with you when you arrive and advise on things like views an...

Small modular rooms but fine for a few nights and a very cool bar and areas to hangout. Great and fun use of technology, everything in the room controlled from a Samsung TAB - TV, blinds to the lighting tone for the shower. Maybe some calibration needed as selecting "Relaxed Mood' lights the room up like the Olympic stadium. I had one small problem with the TV so our 'Ambassador' simply re-booted the entire room - that's a first. Stuff that should be free is free - WiFi, movies. And the staff are excellent - it is very clear customer service is in the DNA. Only downside - the Cosmo cocktail needs a little work.

Room Tip: Back of the hotel may be a little quieter in terms of traffic noise. If you're a light sleep jus...

We stayed in their hotel in Amsterdam and decided it would work for the 3 nights we would be in London. the room was set up much better, maybe because it is newer and they are finding out what really works. The bathroom and shower set up was all in one enclosed unit, better than the stand alone units in Amsterdam. They also changed the sink to be bigger, and in a cabinet with storage areas. The shower towels were big and fluffy. The bed is comfortable, but I had to climb in and out of it which was very annoying. There is only one free side, with the other three sides up against the wall and window. I was not impressed with the breakfast pastry. The croissants were not very good and tasteless. The staff was very accommodating, although more training on knowledge of the area would be helpful. They do charge an extra fee to use a credit card which is ridiculous. I would guess that almost all guest use credit cards. The room price should be sufficient to cover the expense. I would probably stay here again for a short stay.

The hotel is very 'arty', lovely books, artwork, etc. rooms are small but showers bedding excellent. The bed is almost in an alcove and you need to climb I to it, different but not a problem. Lovely large screen tv downstairs. The staff are excellent and very criendly and helpful.

The hotel is in a really good position, near Tate Modern and Borough Market, we walked to the Old Vic one evening.
