Description: Every grand hotel needs a spectacular bar. The Rivoli Bar is one of the best, reborn in glorious art deco style. A symphony of camphor wood, satinwood, alabaster, gold leaf and Lalique glass, the atmosphere here changes throughout the day. Intimate yet comfortable, The Rivoli Bar is a dramatic and beautiful contrast to The Ritz house style and a genuine revelation. Enjoy a light lunch or supper and experience the delicious cocktails or the Champagne of the month. Monday to Saturday 11:30am - 12midnight Sunday 12:00pm - 10:00pm The dress code of The Ritz reflects the ambience and style of the different areas of the hotel. In The Ritz Restaurant and The Palm Court, gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie, with the exception of breakfast; jeans and sportswear are not permitted. Smart casual attire is requested for The Rivoli Bar and The Long Gallery. Please note that sports shoes are not permitted in The Ritz Restaurant, The Rivoli Bar or The Palm Court at any time.

Another Birthday to be celebrated - an American friend, who lives in Florence, had cause to celebrate whilst staying with us in London last weekend. It had to be the Ritz for Classic Art Decor and snazzy drinks with mouth-watering names, accompanied by tempting little nibbles and gigantic olives.
The hotel itself and all the staff certainly dress to impress but it struck me that the clientèle were slightly less so than on our previous visits, however I am told they had dropped the "Necktie Essential Rule" during this summer's intense heat. If they do re-introduce it when things cool down I am sure they will still keep a supply of ties to cover under-dressed necks!
The cocktails are delicious - they keep you waiting whilst they make and shake them for just long enough for you to have taken in enough salt to be thirsty, so it is an idea to order water too - otherwise they slip down the "little red lane" all too quickly - and even so it seems that a second is essential....so be prepared to shell out £40 per person just for two cocktails ... but somehow they seem worth it!

A range of good cocktails offered and serviced with service as you would expect from a bar located within the Ritz.

Smart casual and i noted others that were wearing polo shirts etc so i would not say that a jacket is compulsory.

It seemed away from the more touristy area of the hotel, which was nice.

We just had cocktails so we could soak up the glitzy atmosphere of the Rivoli and it didn't disappoint. I would say I thought the Waiter was slightly smarmy but I can't fault the presentation of the cocktails mime's was on slate with a swish of coconut and crystalized pineapple and my fiend's Champagne fizzed with gold flakes rising to the surface. The setting is all gold, ambers and mirrors a truly stunning bar one I would return to well worth the money.

Excellent location, atmosphere & ambience. Cocktails are superb but not cheap - this is the Ritz!!
Only quibble is the need for men to wear a jacket & tie all year around.
Highly recommended, but don't go on a hot day as the a/c is just adequate.
