Seven Dials hotel is centrally located on Monmouth Street, very close to theatres, restaurants and shops. It's clean and tidy though the room we had was very basic in terms of furniture and the window backed onto a view of two gas boilers! This meant that, whilst we found we were not disturbed by any traffic noise, the room was pretty hot and stuffy. Clearly, though, that's an issue that only relates to this particular room. The only other slight grumbles were a rather narrow bed for two reasonably average size adults and a cracked bath panel and generally very tired and oddly shaped bathroom.

Breakfast was adequate and on a self-serve basis.

Never worked out how to access the wifi! It wasn't actually mentioned at any point nor did I spot any wifi symbols.

In short - no hotel in central London is exactly 'value for money' but this has the advantage of being reasonably quiet, conveniently located and clean.

Room Tip: Perhaps not the ground level one we had, unless you are a big fan of the finer points of gas boiler...

Thank you for your feedback.

The Seven Dials Hotel is an excellent base to stay for those looking to stay in a fantastic location in central London.

Being in such a fantastic location means that rooms are not very large and therfore we are unable to fit king size beds in the rooms.

However if location and a hearty breakfast is important to you then the Seven Dials Hotel is excellent value for money.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kind Regards

A very unusual hotel right in the heart of the theatre land and the Coven Garden life. Nice clean rooms with overused softish beds, but basic facilities fine considering the price as compared with London's other hyped places. If you love life, noise and more noise - especially if you get a room on the street side, then this is the place. I love it when I see life all around me.

Room Tip: Don't be fussy if you want to live in this part of London

You pay for location here, walking distance to much of what London has to offer. We did have comfortable enough beds and breakfast - eggs, bacon, sausage, canned beans, toast, no fruit . It was clean, though worn, and the wifi worked. It was the inexplicable cessation of the overhead electricity in the room and bathroom that puzzled us. Ceiling fan stopped and bathroom light/fan stopped, but just as unexpectedly started again a number of hours later. Lucky we weren't on a tight schedule, because between the electrical eccentricity and that the shower didn't drain, we had to wait between showers. Here are some other quirks - a tea station attached to the wall with the plug noted, but no outlet in sight. (There was an electric tea kettle on the dresser, but we did not try it, the TV, the phone or the hairdryer to see if they worked. There was no clock and we had to unplug some things to use the few outlets.) We paid more to have twin room instead of double and was told that it was because it was "bigger". There were two beds, but we had to shimmy around them, with care not to crash our toes against the metal supports. It seemed that a twin was added to a room with a double. The stairway is scary, a narrow turning staircase and and it was most difficult to get up it with the bigger travel bag I brought. (No offer of help.) The front windows are double paned but there is still road noise, especially if you have to open them because the fan decides to take the night off. (It is summer, and it does get warm.) Earplugs come in handy here. In three days we didn't see clean drinking glasses, though the towels were changed. Some dirt on the floor didn't move in that time either. The staff was friendly and I think the breakfast ladies, also very nice, did actually try to get us tea before we were completely done eating. The clerk laughed at me when I asked for some ice. She explained that they have a freezer, but they don't have any ice cube trays!

On the plus side, the location cannot be beat, the wifi was working, it was clean and secure, breakfast was included, and they will hold bags after checkout. I was just a bit surprised after reading all the rave reviews that it wasn't a little nicer. Maybe the other rooms are better?

Room Tip: No lift and narrow turning staircase, so lower floors less trouble. Street noise on the front side.

Thank you for your feedback.

Yes space is very limited when staying in a hotel in a very central London location in Covent Garden. Even some of the expensive 4 star hotels in the area have very small rooms. The Seven Dials Hotel is ideal for those who are looking to stay within seconds walking distance to some of the top theatres in London, restaurants and bars at a budget price.

We offer excellent value for money. For as little as £37.50 per person you can stay in the heart of Covent Garden with a full English breakfast included.

With regards to the lights in the bathroom these lights are on a sensor so that after a while the lights will switch off so that people do not leave lights on when they leave the room - this is our way of being environmentally friendly :-)

Kind Regards

My husband and I were traveling with my 17 year old daughter, and the only room they had for us was in their annex location two blocks over on Endell Street. We had one double bed, two singles, a couch, armoire, desk, and book shelf. This was a very good size room, but the bathroom was tiny to the point of being restrictive and claustrophobic. The weather was warm and sunny, and our room didn't have a/c, but with the 3 large windows open, it let in lots of fresh air, and the room cooled off nicely. While the main hotel included free Wifi, it was not available in the annex building but I was able to connect to a paid Wifi service that was available in that area for £15 for the week.

Weekend nights are very, very noisy with loud partiers coming by all night, until about 5am. Weekday nights are just fine however, and the noise is the price you pay for such a great location. Right in Covent Gardens, the theatre district, with easy access to tube stations and within walking distance of Theatres, shops, restaurants, attractions: Oxford street, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly, the Thames, London Eye, British Museum are all within walking distance.

Breakfast was included in the price of the hotel, so we walked over to the main location each morning. And what a feast it was! Rubbery fried eggs, liver tasting sausages, super salty ham, watery scrambled eggs, beans, toast, and granola. The coffee was so thick and strong, it was like sludge. The instant Nescafe we had in the room was so much better. There are plenty of alternatives to have breakfast in the area, but I couldn't bring myself to give up a free breakfast. The granola and toast were good for me!

The first and foremost positive thing about this hotel is its location... perfect for a night out to a great show. The reception staff is nice and polite, the room was basic but we had a nice sleep, the breakfast is very average and not very well cooked.. really it should be called a B&B not a hotel. The stairs are so narrow they are not easy to climb, one of us fell (sober) down the tiny steps. The bedding was clean but I found a few hair (floor & breakfast table) that seem to belong to the 2 young staff that double up as cleaners and cook. The wifi does not work upstairs! There was a fan on our ceiling which was certainly needed , a small T.V. and a small shower room with no windows and a shower curtains that either needs a good wash or replacing. No frill B&B but it worked for one night, not sure we ll be back again, shame because with a little tlc and attention this place could be a brilliant place to stay due to its location!

Room Tip: Lower floors apparently have working wifi ?!

Hello

Thank you for your feedback.

Yes we are a budget bed and breakfast hotel located in a fantastic Central London location. We offer budget rooms at a budget price. We offer a great base to stay for those looking to explore London at affordable prices. For those looking for a more luxurious room it is better to book a 3 or 4 star hotel, however prices will be more expensive.

Space in London is very limited so there is no space for us to add a lift in the hotel.

Kind Regards

I've stayed in this hotel 3 times. Love it a lot. It's in Covent Garden. Theatres, shops, attractions, London night life are all around you. Rooms are quite spacious by London standards. But beware of deafening noise coming from the street even at night. It might be a problem for you to have a good night rest. There are no other downsides.

Room Tip: The staircase may be a problem, choose lower floors.

I love this hotel, and have stayed here many times. Providing you can cope with the stairs, and you aren't a major fusspot, you will, too. It's clean, comfortable, and friendly. You walk out right into the middle of Covent Garden. The staff are charming and helpful.

Room Tip: The rear is quieter.
