The first and foremost positive thing about this hotel is its location... perfect for a night out to a great show. The reception staff is nice and polite, the room was basic but we had a nice sleep, the breakfast is very average and not very well cooked.. really it should be called a B&B not a hotel. The stairs are so narrow they are not easy to climb, one of us fell (sober) down the tiny steps. The bedding was clean but I found a few hair (floor & breakfast table) that seem to belong to the 2 young staff that double up as cleaners and cook. The wifi does not work upstairs! There was a fan on our ceiling which was certainly needed , a small T.V. and a small shower room with no windows and a shower curtains that either needs a good wash or replacing. No frill B&B but it worked for one night, not sure we ll be back again, shame because with a little tlc and attention this place could be a brilliant place to stay due to its location!

Room Tip: Lower floors apparently have working wifi ?!

Hello

Thank you for your feedback.

Yes we are a budget bed and breakfast hotel located in a fantastic Central London location. We offer budget rooms at a budget price. We offer a great base to stay for those looking to explore London at affordable prices. For those looking for a more luxurious room it is better to book a 3 or 4 star hotel, however prices will be more expensive.

Space in London is very limited so there is no space for us to add a lift in the hotel.

Kind Regards

Hotel Manager

I've stayed in this hotel 3 times. Love it a lot. It's in Covent Garden. Theatres, shops, attractions, London night life are all around you. Rooms are quite spacious by London standards. But beware of deafening noise coming from the street even at night. It might be a problem for you to have a good night rest. There are no other downsides.

Room Tip: The staircase may be a problem, choose lower floors.

I love this hotel, and have stayed here many times. Providing you can cope with the stairs, and you aren't a major fusspot, you will, too. It's clean, comfortable, and friendly. You walk out right into the middle of Covent Garden. The staff are charming and helpful.

Room Tip: The rear is quieter.

Location is great, right in the middle of central London but this is very basic accomodation. The staff were pleasant. The building really needs a good make over. There is a small staircase which is old carpetted leading to maybe 3 / 4 floors of rooms. I was on the top floor with a view of building roofs / slates. The room was basic. Old wallpaper curling off the walls. There was a tiny loo / shower tucked into the corner. Bed sheets were clean but the bed was old and not very comfy. For the price - not good value for money compared to other places I have stayed in.

I almost hate to write a review of a place that has been my little secret. Friends in London can't believe that we stay in such a basic accommodation. However, as the other reviewers have noted, it is what it is, and the location is a dream for me. The staff are great. The rooms are clean. They now have (barely adequate) WiFi throughout the hotel. Breakfast is excellent. To return to a place where they remember you, care about you, treat you well-- it's just great and makes going to London less painful of a dollar-bleeding experience.

Room Tip: Not all of the rooms facing Monmouth Street have double-paned windows, which help enormously with muting the sound outside. These are the larger rooms that include an extra twin bed as well as the full. If you are happy with just a double, you can face Neal's Yard, have a quieter experience, and save money, too.
