“A good valued and easily acquired hotel”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

Our rooms were on the 3rd floor and easy to reach because of a quick and large lift. If there is one draw back to this hotel it is the breakfast room and cleanliness of this. The bread for instance was just pushed into corbs, dry and sorted by many guests hands and there was so little choice. There was on two mornings only cream cheese and marmalade. This was with the excuse that a delivery was just being made and would be rectified. This wasn't and so for the price it was not a good deal.
The tables were often left dirty and mugs and glasses were in short supply and had to be washed by hand.

I booked this hotel specifically because the website said it was 'a few minutes walk' from the airport - we had a very early flight. No one at the airport information desk had heard of the hotel nor could they direct us. It took at least 15 minutes to walk there at a reasonable pace, there were no signs. The entrance lobby was dire. We cancelled.

Stayed for another 3 nights in October and unfortunately a bus load of foreign workers also wanted breakfast where everything at one time or another ran out is short sucession including space to sit down. The foyer breakfast area is quite obviously too small and although the staff did their best ... Would i stay again? If on a really tight budget yes but for single stays I would recommend the Travelodge Excel nearest Royal Albert DLR which for not much more and even less at the weekend (sometimes) you get the next level up on space and catering which for the evenings was non existent, unless you count carry in's. The staff did their best with what they have available which sadly is not too much

Room Tip: Take a third floor room and ideally on the river side to get away from the noise of take offs and la...

Many thanks for review which is really valuable for us.Being an event in the area, there were lots of exhibitors who stayed at hotel during that time. We have another breakfast area for groups which is open in the morning but sometimes groups prefer to sit at front area which packed up the breakfast area. We will be soon improving by extending the public area for providing better service.

Having stayed in IBIS for two nights last week and the week before, I was impressed with the low cost and service from the front desk who , given the limted resources on offer were very helpful. The carry in service was well thought out but do not expect 5 star food !
Unfortunately in room 116 the overflow to the wash hand basin was not connected and so I ended up with drips and a puddle on the floor, and 118 in week 2 was okay, with some holes in the sheets , which were clean but had to sleep with the window open on account of an awful smell from the shower area and toliet , which was not me! This smell kept coming in waves suggesting that the shower area was somehow venting the sewer which can be a problem with shallow water traps and multi stack systems and this does need attention as I note other visitors had noted similar issues on Trip advisor

Stayed here before a flight from London city. Arrived at 9:30 pm and was checked straight in. Wasn't expecting luxury and the room looked fine for the price. No power points near the bed was annoying as it meant phone was at other end of room. The corridors are noisy which can be expected in a hotel close to the airport but the room could be soundproofed more. In the morning I had a shave and no plug in the sink meant a lot of water was wasted when there's environmentally friendly stickers all over the room. The walk to the airport is rather long as well especially with bags. Overall though it was acceptable as the prices don't rip you off.

Very good place to stay in London. My friend recomended me this hotel. The price was attractive, the room was clean. The surroundings was safety (I was often comming back late to hotel - from Pontoon Dock DLR station). BTW. this station is about 5 min. of walk from hotel. The only thing which could be better is bed. Is not bad, but it could be a little bit more comfortable. There is also no WiFi free internet. But for that amount of money we got really good place to stay. If I will visit London once more, I will choose this hotel

I wouldn't normally choose to stay at a budget hotel but we were looking for an affordable night's accommodation after visiting the O2. It's definitely a no-frills hotel but the bed was comfortable and the room - incuding the shower cubicle - were immaculately clean. Free car parking is also a major advantage. The DLR is only a 5 minute walk away so you can get to/from the O2 really easily. Great value for money if you're looking for basic but clean, comfortable and conveniently situated accommodation when visiting this part of London.
