The Zetter was the first hotel I have stayed at in London that lived up to its reviews, photographs, and price. It was worth every pence. The rooms were quiet and comfortable, the amenities excellent, and the service outstanding. The environmental practices are among the best I have ever encountered. We travel to London frequently and plan on staying at the Zetter every time.

Was booked in for a business trip so had no idea what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised.
The hotel was about a 20 min walk from Chancery lane (not 15 as claimed by Google maps) and fairly easy to find as it's on Clerkenwell Road. The reception presentation and feel was a definite step up from the standard budget chain hotels: staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was small but clean and nice - decor was quite stylish, and bathroom had no bath but a great shower. Biggest asset for me was that there were several complementary extras that many cheaper hotels have cut out: dressing gowns, shower caps etc. There was also a proper (non travel size)hairdryer which was a huge blessing after my evening shower! Was especially thrilled with the complementary iPod dock with speakers and remote for listening to and charging my iPhone.

Due to the recent heatwave London was unbearably hot the evening I stayed, but the room was fully air conditioned, and almost too cool at times. The room could have done with an air conditioning contro l, but few hotels seem to have these.

The room also came with free Wifi and continental breakfast. l looked at the menu and thought the other breakfast options were rather pricey for what they were.

My biggest criticism was the lack of an in-room kettle! Plus, not really a complaint but I found the light switch which lit the bathroom a sort of infra-pink colour very strange. It felt like a tanning booth.

I would definitely use this hotel again compared to a budget chain if the price was right.

Staff are easily flustered and not really visible, and the standard rooms are agonizingly TINY! But a great location for East London, excellent bathroom amenities and shower, and a great night's sleep.

Room Tip: if your room is tiny, ask to change

I have stayed twice at the Zetter Townhome property off of Clerkswell lane by St. James Square. Once for business, once for a family vacation. Each time I was very pleased with the decor of the rooms, the common areas and the friendliness and service of the staff. The decor of the hotel is very eclectic and very sharp, enough to please my wife whom has very high standards. The main hotel is adjacent to the townhome for meals all day long and the townhome is renown for their exotic cocktails in the common room in the evenings. People reserve seats here it is so popular. Plenty of coffee shops and restaurants surround this area and Farrington station is only 3 blocks away. Covent Gardens and Leichseir square are a short tube ride away. Will definitely use this hotel on my next trip to London.

Room Tip: Room Number 6 is the largest and is spacious enough to fit a roller bed for one additional person...

We loved this hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and nicely decorated, the only one thing is that there is no coffee tea maker but it was not a problem! The restaurant bar in the hotel is very nice and had a lots of very well made cocktails every nights! We would definitely stay here again when in London!

The Zetter is located in the really nice neighborhood of Klerkenwell, not far from the City and yet away from the messy crowded streets. I've chosen this Hotel because it's really different from the usual London townhouse, velvety-flower all over-victorian style hotel. And I was very happy with it. The Bistrot is perfect for breakfast as well as for dinner.

After reading about it in so many magazines, I decided to give it a try even though I am not usually keen to stay in boutique hotels in major cities because it lacks many convenient facilities. I stopped in London for a night and stayed there, it was fun, and nice experience. I had the British style room over looking the Main Street. The food was creative and nice and breakfast in their next door sister hotel was good. Over all nice stay for a day or 2 but bear in mind it is a bit far from London attractions.
