“Nice but not a patch on Claridges”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

We normally stay at Claridges but as we have dined at the Baglioni and we were going to the Royal Albert Hall we thought we would give it a try and stayed there.
We arrived at 11:30 and our room was not ready which was not a problem we drank some tea in the lounge and had some food. The room was available at 2 pm and we had booked a junior suite backing onto a tranquil courtyard. We were show to our room dropped our bags and went out .
In the morning we found we were not facing a tranquil courtyard but a building site ping full ore at 8 am. On speaking to reception I was told we had been upgraded the previous day ! I did point out that if I had know I was being moved to a room FA ing a building site I would have said no - it did not add up ? In terms of detail the rooms do not provide the level of comfort you would expect for the price. No feather pillows and a rather uncomfortable bed. The staff were nice enough but it's back to Claridges for us !

Dear Guest, thank you for your review and am sorry to learn of this discomfort and misunderstanding. Indeed I believe the front desk had the best in mind when upgrading you to a better room category and when escorted to your room maybe they should have pointed out the risk that a room on a main street may be more noisy (though all our windows are double glased) than an inner courtyard room. Please accept my sincerely apologies for this and should you need to stay in this part of town again please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
Sincerely,
Luca Virgilio

“We had a very pleasant stay at The Baglioni and enjoyed being across from Hyde Park. Every member of staff was friendly and so willing to help in anyway possible. Coming downstairs each morning felt like leaving a personal home, where everybody knew our name and greeted us with a familiar smile. Breakfast was wonderful – loved enjoying my eggs and coffee with the paper. The hotel definitely had an Italian vibe, from the music to the menu, I particularly liked the selection of complimentary Italian waters that were left in our room every evening – mini bottles of Acqua Panna and Pelligrino. Like a little corner of Italy across from Kensington Gardens.”

This is the second time I have stayed at this lovely boutique hotel. The service is amazing - I cannot say enough about Phil, the concierge. I traveled to London with my 8-year-old son after Christmas. Now normally I am a pretty adventurous, independent traveler, but considering I was traveling with my son, I wanted get feedback from Phil. He was amazing; scheduled a tour guide, was able to obtain sold-out ticket to Potter Land, last minute dinner reservations to booked places, etc. Add all this to the stylish decor and plush beds - I highly recommend this hotel. They also have a wonderful breakfast buffet and charming sitting/dining area that is always well appointed. Baglioni Hotel is such as wonderful example of hospitality professionals. Needless to say, the location is AMAZING, it is beautifully adorned by Hyde Park. The prices are a little high but well worth it....

What a great hotel. We stayed here on New Years Eve for 1 night and were incredibly lucky to be upgraded whilst we were here. What makes this place is the decor. Absolutely love it, such an Italian feel in the centre of London. Our check in was smooth (the only word I could describe the lobby as is exquisite) however our room wasn't ready (but we did appear at about 11 am) and the hotel were happy to store our bags until later. Not a problem.

The location of the hotel is nice, pretty much opposite Kensington Palace/Hyde Park and about an 6 minute walk to High Street Kensington Tube Station. Handy for getting to any parts of central London.

What really made our stay was the room. Loved the purple/gold theme with a spacious living area, walk in wardrobe, two flat screen tv's and an espresso machine (well what else would you expect from an Italian chain?). Our bed was extremely comfy and the bathroom..well this is the best bathroom I've ever had in a hotel! Amazing his and hers brass sinks, huge separate shower and bath and black granite decor. So chic. All amenities we could possibly have needed were there at our disposal as well.

Would we return? Absolutely. As a travel agent I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to my clients! The staff seemed extremely professional and attentive as well. Fabulous! Take me back now!

This provided EXACTLY what anyone should want from a 5-star London hotel: good location, highly professional & friendly staff/service, beautifully presented rooms with comfy beds/linens & minimal noise intrusion for a good night's sleep. In addition, this hotel has a top-class restaurant on site (see below) & also a spa (didn't try). Our two rooms were spotlessly clean and very well furnuished. Whilst modern in decor/furnishing/lighting, the inside of the hotel has a very welcome air of general peace & tranquility about it - quite an achievment for a building at one end of Ken High St!
We stayed for 3 nights at the end of December (family of 4, 2 rooms) and would certainly return. At this level, it's the little things which make the difference - for example, being greeted by staff around the hotel, by my name, when I've never previously met them. Had I been a guest for the past fortnight, then fair enough... but after only 2 days?? Impressive indeed. The hotel was nearly almost full on the day we arrived (Dec 30), but at no stage did it ever feel overcrowded - especially around the usual bottle-necks, i.e. at breakfast, or in the front lobby/Reception area.
We ate out out for the first two nights of our stay, & chose to eat in their restaurant ("Moreno at Baglioni") on our final night, featuring a 2-Michelin-star Italian chef in the kitchen, apparently. Had we chosen to eat there on all three nights, we would not have been disappointed: the food, service and ambience were each superb. All too often, one of these key ingredients is missing, even at this high level. Not so here: the staff were hugely knowledgeable (as well as very enthusiastic) about all aspects of the menu. The ecclectic modern Italian food was both innovative and delicious (try either the amberjack or salted cod starters and then veal cheeks as a main).
Overall, highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed here for one night in December as we were attending an event in London
The Baglioni had been recommended to us by friends and we weren't disappointed. The room was quiet, spacious and for central London, wonderfully dark at night and perfectly quiet. Bathroom was fabulous and the whole experience was superb
My only regret? We didn't get chance to eat in the restaurant which looked great
