Easy walking distance to St Paul's, Tate Modern and the Millenium Bridge. We walked to Tower Bridge also on the Queen's Walk. Very good breakfasts at the hotel.

Have stayed here a number of times and it is a firm favourite with me.I'm always greeted with a nice 'welcome back' from reception which shows they know I've been before and is a nice touch, not something you get from other Holiday Inn or Crowne Plaza hotels.
The rooms are good spacious and clean, service is efficient and friendly, the food is good. Ideal location right on the Thames, a short walk to the South Bank attractions or along the Embankment towards the West End. In the Crowne Plaza group this is a good hotel.

We took my 9 year old grandson to London on his first visit to the capital and chose this hotel because it offered us a very good rate for a family room.We liked the location and yes Blackfriars is closed but both Temple and Mansion House are very close and we used the buses. We had a lovely room with 2 double beds which were very comfortable. There was a wide choice of food at breakfast although we did have to wait for a table on the Sunday morning.I would come back here.

My daughter and I stayed for 7 nights at the Crowne Plaza over spring break, booked through Priceline. Location was convenient to bus routes-not so great for Tube since Blackfriars is closed, but we knew that going in. Room was adequate-good size, spare decor. The mattresses & pillow were lumpy and soft, but I was brought a down pillow when requested which made sleeping much better. Housekeeping seemed to go downhill over the course of the weeks' stay. Had a water glass made of hard plastic that had cigarette stains in the bottom. Hoped for a replacement on day 2 with no luck-found the maid and asked her for a new glass--she took the stained/dirty glass, spritzed it with a green chemical cleaner and tried to hand it back to me. Apparently, that's how they clean the mugs and cups in the rooms as opposed to sending them through a dishwasher. When I asked for a different cup, she dumped out a cup full of coins, pens, etc that was on her cart and started to wash that one out to give me. When I indicated displeasure, a few moments later a different housekeeper brought a new cup to the door. Service was excellent like that throughout the stay--it was just the housekeeping that I would have expected a little more thorough overall. Picky perhaps, but I like to have a tidy room when I return--not see the teapot still out on the desk from morning coffee. Still, if booked at a good rate like we received, overall I'd recommend the hotel. The staff was very nice and accommodating for travelers.

Picked this hotel due to its central location and proximity to Blackfriars Tube station. Blackfriars is closed for an extended renovation until sometime later this year, so it is a ten minute walk to either of the other two stations on the line. Very close to St. Paul's and right near the Thames.

This location of London is very quiet in the evening as it seems to be the kind of place where many people work, but do not reside in.

The rooms were very clean reasonably spacious by English standards. The shower had about the best water pressure I've enjoyed in a hotel in a long time. Front desk staff were polite but neither friendly nor welcoming. There is WIFI, but it seemed very expensive. The breakfast also seemed a little pricey, (and not just because I was spending my country's devalued currency.) There are 3 SBUX very close, plus a couple of British versions of the same (called "Pret A (something)

A leisure visit to London is usually all about enjoying this beautiful, fascinating, frenetic and awe-inspiring city -not about the hotel. This one did a good job of serving the purpose, if not being particularly memorable.

Noted that the top 2 floors appear to be better maintained than the lower floors. Service in the upper floors was excellent, with fair sized rooms, and use of business center after hours - includes free alcohol, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. Central location (counterflow in early a.m. to Canary Wharf - roughly 20 mins cab ride in). Hotel located within a block of the tube for vacationers.

The lobby is done up quite nice, but walking down the hall to the room, there was a lot of wear & tear to be seen. The room was similarly worn and dated. On top of that the room was small; the plan on the back of the door showed it to be the smallest room on the floor. And it had only a double bed. We felt that wasn't going to cut it for an eight night stay, especially since we were paying for an "upgraded" room. We enquired about the "upgrade" and were told that it was an "upgraded" room because it was on a "higher" floor. We pointed out that it was on the second floor, and were told, yes, that is higher than the first floor. Well, who could argue with that? We were given the option to move to a larger room, for an extra 100 pounds per night.

Just outside the room was a storage closet for the housekeeping staff, which contributed to unneeded noise. And, though being on a "higher" floor, and towards the back, we could still here the weekend traffic noise from New Bridge Street.

The staff, though not unfriendly, were very unempathetic. We paid an extra fifteen pounds to access the internet and found a similarly 'starred' hotel close by. After one night at the Crowne Plaza we checked out and got a larger room, in an obviously better hotel, for the same price. In addition, the room in the new hotel had a king-sized bed, and free wifi access. No traffic noise, either. And better ammenities (free pool, sauna, spa, etc.) The new hotel is better located...closer to St. Paul's. Night and day, for the same price!

To sum up: for the same amount of money there's better to be had nearby.
