“Crown Plaza London The City the best so far!”
Reviewed March 20, 2011

I choose this hotel after a booking error on line but need not have worried. Checked it out on Trip advisor and it is as nice as others have said. I stayed with older children in a refurbished family room for four on the 5th floor. Super clean, great beds, great breakfast selection that would suit any taste and the service was warm and friendly. A good location for either side of the city for sight seeing. The best part of all was the service, cheerful and seemingly happy staff. Having stayed in London several times before it was nice to walk in and out of the lobby and be spoken to, be smiled at and made to feel welcome all day. We had a hot water issue early one morning that was quickly addressed (30 minuets to fix it) and fully explained, not to mention really nice comps for our trouble! I could not find any fault and would stay again which is a first for a London hotel.

We stayed as a party of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids aged 7 and 3) for three nights last summer. The hotel accomodated us all in a standard room with 2 double beds. The room and public areas were immaculate, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

the buffet breakfast was well provisioned and set us up well for the days we spent around the city.

The location is excellent, beside City Thameslink and at the nexus of bus routes to the West End and North London.

This is a fantastic hotel, it is not cheap but if it's in your price range then go for it.
Excellently located near Blackfriers train station (tube station was closed at the time of visit), and only a 10 minutes walk to Temple tube station. It is also walking distance from St. Paul's Cathedral.
Staff are very friendly, hotel is extremely clean, and the room is fantastic. Being a regular traveller (I spend around 5 days a week on the road in hotels), I tend to pick up on the common pitfalls of hotels. However I must say this hotel is pretty good, with the best part being how comfortable the beds are - absolute quality.

The only dowsides I can find are:
- Speed of Service upon checkin was rather slow
- Waiting for elevators are particularly annoying, sometimes if feels like taking the stairs down would be quicker

That's it! Impressed with everything else. One thing to mention, I didn't eat in the restaurant mainly because you are in Central London, why stay and eat in a hotel - so cannot comment on the food.

This hotel is also part of the Priority Club reward scheme.... so if you are a high points earner and looking for a free stay in central London... then this has to be your first choice.

As an American, I don't hear or say the word "lovely" very often here in the States, but I use it to describe this hotel. The staff was friendly and professional, the lobby was inviting, our junior suite was nicely furnished, and our dinner at Refettorio was our favorite meal in London during our week-long visit.

Sitting in the lobby lounge waiting for my transport, free wifi for guests, awesome, nice compared to other costly chain hotels. Just a quick summary of a very relaxed stay: great bed, friendly people, good cocktails, lovely service during breakfast and dinner, lifts could be faster. When I am back in London I will return.

I spent one night here before a business meeting and I was lucky enough to be given a executive upgrade from standard room.

Very nice luxury room on the 7th floor, room was modern with big bathroom, only negative point is £49 for Films and Internet access is double the price of most Crowne Plaza's in london.

I would stay again but i dont recommended the tv package.

My wife and I came to London to celebrate our wedding anniversary and chose this hotel as we were using Airmiles in part payment.

The location was excellent. Even though Blackfriars tube was closed there were plenty of other stations close by and the riverside walks from the hotel were scenic.

The check-in was polite and efficient, the room luxurious (with free mineral water and aromatherapy oils) and the breakfast was excellent (this was served in the rather oddly-named Chinese Cricket Club) although we had to wait 10 minutes for a table on Sunday morning and had to badger the staff for a coffee.

We did not use the hotel bar but the Black Friar pub opposite the hotel provided a good choice of real ale.

Overall we were very pleased with this hotel, it felt luxurious but without the stuffiness often found in other upmarket London hotels.

Overall I would thoroughly recommend this hire
