No elevator to go up 4 flights of stairs with luggage. No lighting in rooms or halls. Breakfast very overpriced.

receptionists are too confused, we discussed 3 times about the rates! we reserved on the internet but it was not prepaid. when we arrived we discovered they accepted only a very limited nr of credit cards (i.e. no electronic cards) so 2 of us had to withdraw cash on the following day to settle the bill. back to the hotel, the receptionist said the total was lower due to some deposit he had to give us back. we asked several times if he was sure about this and in the end he was almost annoyed by our insistence. when we left, 2 days later, they said the bill was not fully settled and wanted us to pay back the value of the "deposit"!

I would really suggest avoiding that hotel: for more than 100£ per night for a single room, you get a tiny room in the basement, with strong vanish smell, no light, hardly enough space to walk around the bed, more waves in the bed than in the sea, a miniscule shower room, and not even the possibility to get a breakfast if you need to leave early in the morning. Even the remote of the TV was not working!
That was a terrible experience and I promissed myself never to return to that hotel again

Stayed in this hotel overnight with my daughter, whilst doing a bit of sightseeing + xmas shopping - found it very clean and very comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and very polite, great location for travelling to and from London as well as around London, would certainly stay here again!

I stayed 2 nights in November on business and was alone. The room and bathroom were tiny but clean and modern. Sitting down to write was, in practice only possible by sitting on the bed. The temperature control did not appear to go below 19 degrees which seemed bizarre as in November the outside temperature at night was around 10 degrees or less. It was possible to open the window wide and that did help but why on earth not just turn the heating down? The staff were polite enough but seemed to have arrived fairly recently from the subcontinent which might explain why the heating was so high. the location was excellent being near to Hyde Park with lots of restaurants, Paddington station, and tube a short walk away. Oxford Street was within walking distance. Considering the location and that everything was clean I would say it was good value for money if one is in London on a tight budget.

We booked last minute and having read the reviews were braced for a nightmare! But it was fabulous! Check in took seconds, we'd been given a club room in the basement instead of the deluxe but no problem! Room was large, bed comfy, shower a good size! There was no view but I wasn't in London to stay in the room and look out! Breakfast served till ten am meant a lie in! Excellent choice if breakfast- all the fry up essentials fresh and hot with a good choice of continental too! Would definitely stay again! £82 for a double room in London, with breakfast...... Nicer and cheaper than any travel lodge / premier inn!!

The room is as big as our box bedroom, The tv took up all of the wall and was hanging over what can never be called a double bed.
The room was like staying in a sauna the radiator wouldnt turn off so we had that on all night, the air-con wouldnt go less than 20 degrees that isnt aircon in my eyes, I tried opening the window it didnt stay up and slammed on my hand not a great start to the day!!

The shower was a tight squeeze getting in and out and i'm hardly a big guy i really do feel for anyone who is abit overweight.

I had a cleaner walk in on me starkers in the morning even though we put the notice on the door handle not to come in.

We were thinking about having breakfast at the hotel but as we hadnt booked it rior to our visit it would of cost £17 i dont think so for abit of bacon!!

Yes the hotel is very clean and modern looking but for the price i did at least expect a room i could move around in and be comfortable within.

My only praise for the hotel is the staff were very friendly and helpful and we could leave our bags there while we had the day in london even after we had checked out.

Jay and claire droitwich stayed 12-11-11 to 13-11-11

Room Tip: We had a standard room so i would reccomend maybe upgrading to a different room but for the price i...
