We agree with the many reviewers about the great service, attentive staff and great accommodations. The major flaw is that it is the only Hilton hotel we have ever stayed in that does not provide password protected internet. Unsecured wifi, same as Starbucks. In this day and age, this is not acceptable.

Dear Page2012,

Thank you for your great review. We are pleased that you enjoyed the service and accommodation.

The purpose of passwords on public networks is to prevent misuse of the network by others not staying at the hotel. If we were to include the option of adding a password it would, unfortunately, limit the number of connected devices to 5 per room. Our provider offers best in class security but it is always advisable to ensure one has adequate security enabled on all devices when using public networks.

Thanks once again for your review and we hope to welcome you back soon,

Kind regards,

Ashley

We stayed here one weekend for a concert and a show and it's a fantastic place, close to the underground which gets you everywhere and it's very easy to find.
We had a great room overlooking the airport.
The cookies were a lovely surprise.

Dear JWilliam190760,

Thanks for a fantastic review of our hotel. We were pleased to hear that you had a great stay.

The hotel is very well located for City Airport, The O2, Olympic Stadium and of course, ExCeL Exhibition Centre.

We love the cookies too, especially when they are fresh out of the oven.

Hope to see you again soon.

Ashley

Although some of the stay was pleasant and the access to the ExCel arena (the reason for our visit) was a definite positive, unfortunately the paid "upgrade" was a disappointment at best and a con at worst.
The upgrade advertised was for hotel luxuries such as an espresso machine, a fridge and access to a balcony, to name a few. However after accepting the upgrade we were greeted with a basic room with none of the above extras, except for the balcony which we did not have access to.
After calling reception and being told there was no key for the balcony, we requested a downgrade at which point a key was found. This made for a sour start to what was a short break away to London.

There were other problems beyond this and a result I definitely would not recommend this hotel.

Stayed 4 nights for a convention at the Excel May 2018. Nice hotel. very clean. Good bar that's open late with food options. The bar food is excellent. Has the steak and ale pie and a couple pizzas. Many drink options. The buffet breakfast is expensive and average but has a very big selection of options, you also don't have to do buffet. There is no business centre so if you wan to ship out you have to schedule a shipment yourself online. It's a 5 minute walk from the convention centre. There is a bar/restaurant next door called Fox Connaught. 5-7 minute walk from DLR station Prince Regent. Gotta love Doubletree warm cookies when you check in. Pretty good gym, although small but has everything. London City airport next door. Wifi is very good everywhere.

It’s said to be 15mins away from LCY which is true, but it’s not an easy walk.
The room’s are Hilton standard, the lobby is really old fashioned.
It took me about 20 mins to check in, and the late night cookies they promised me to make this forgotten never arrived :)
