“Lovely Hotel, Well Located”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

Stayed here a few times with my wife when visiting London. Really well located, not central but in a nice neighbourhood with a tube station very close by. Very clean, nice big rooms with very friendly staff.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights (June 27- July 2) and we enjoyed our stay very much. As you can tell by looking at a map, it is not exactly what I would call "centrally" located for London's attractions, but we have been to London before and stayed in the heart of it, so this time we didn't mind saving a bit of money and traveling a few extra minutes to sight see.

Our room was very modern, everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Our room was situated very close to where a wedding reception was being held in the hotel, but we could not hear it once we closed our door. The staff at the front desk are eager to help and the lobby is really pretty. There is a really neat pool, although we didn't have a chance to use it.The breakfast was good, but the service was adequate.

The charm of the older part of the hotel really is quite impressive. I highly recommend having a drink in the bar. It is cozy with the couches and upholstered chairs and the fireplaces. My hubby and I ate dinner in there a couple times, and it was probably the best food we had during our stay in London. The hamburgers were delicious and so was the roasted chicken. The service is very prompt and friendly.

The only issue we had during our stay was with the room service. It was at 10:45 at night, so that probably is why we had any issue at all, but my food (the pasta) seemed like it was straight out of the fridge and someone forgot to heat it up. It was stone cold. I called down to let them know, the gentleman was very apologetic and asked if they could fix the problem but at that point I was tired and just wanted to go to bed. It was really wonderful how they didn't even charge us for the other dish that we ate, that was very nice of them. I'm sure it was an absolute fluke.

One side note: the neighborhood where they are located is a bit rough around the edges. I recommend getting on the bus that stops right outside the hotel. You can take that bus straight to Kilburn Tube station (5 min bus ride) or all the way to Victoria station (40 min bus ride) if you would like. With London's amazing network of public transportation, there really isn't any reason to stay in a hotel that is "centrally located" anyway. It shouldn't be what deters you from staying here. With a hotel like this that is outside of London a bit, the upside is that the rooms are much much larger and affordable. A room like this in a hotel like this in an area like Kensington would be 3 times more expensive. We really had a very pleasant stay here:)

Having spent many years in north west London in the 80s and 90s and many nights in the old Crown on Cricklewood it was fantastic to take a trip down memory lane to stay in the magnificently restored and extended Crown Moran Hotel. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed it so much we will be returning again in November for a weekend catching up with old friends. The service and rooms and leisure centre are great. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is a bit outsider, but if we consider that in the center of London for slum you're forced to pay a lot, it is better to stay in this hotel! Can easily be reached by bus 16 from Victoria Station, or you can take the subway, get off at Westminster and from there take the Jubilee Line which brings you to kilburn, from there you have two choices, or a 10 minute walk or 3 minutes by bus and you're at the crown hotel. If I return to London I will definitely go there again. It 's very beautiful, elegant, the staff very professional, the rooms are large (this is a rarity in London). The adjacent pub makes good breakfast and good dinner in the evening, the price is not expensive. Overall, I can assure you that if you will stay in this hotel you will be fine! Trust! central London hotels are bad and small, where you do not even have the space to turn around and put your suitcase.

Got an excellent deal through Octopus Travel for this hotel. Stayed here three nights and we have nothing but good things to say about the place. I notice that in many reviews people seem to think that the place is a bit far out and rather complicated for getting into downtown London. We found getting around very easy. With the Oyster card you can get in and off buses, tubes and DSL train so easily (loaded 30 pounds per card for four days and it was just right). The street directly in front of the hotel is a main service road and literally every bus takes you directly to the tube and vice versa - don't have to worry about which number of bus to take. And furthermore, there's a bus and tube about every two to three minutes so that you don't have to worry about time schedules. Honestly, I can't imagine how I would have gotten better value for my money anywheres else in London.

Spent a long weekend in this hotel which I booked on booking.com and very glad I did. A clean, spacious hotel with excellent facilities. All staff I had dealings with were very polite and professional. Room was fantastic for the rate paid, definately great value for money. Admittedly did not use any of the restaurant facilities as a nearby pub was sufficient for our needs so cannot comment on the catering side. The bar is very 'olde worlde' with lovely surroundings, fires and comfortable chairs. Although there were functions going on in other parts of the building at no time did they infringe on the residents so there was no late night noise or disturbance. And don't forget to bring your swimming costumes and sports gear for the pool and gym!!!!

Buses to and fro just outside the door and also includes a night bus so that not a problem. Cricklewood main line and Kilburn underground about10 minutes slow pace walking but all in all once you find your bearings public transport not an issue.

Being Irish I was unaware of the fact when booking that it was actually part of an Irish chain of hotels so that made it even more homely. So I highly recommend to any Irish that are looking for a good hotel to check this one out.

We stayed at Crown Moran, it is a hotel with lots of character, lovely stay, reasonable price, good evening meals served in the bar, lovely pool, ideal for main line station which takes you right to the middle of London, (station is just five minute walk away) very clean, bedrooms and bathrooms, good all round hotel with friendly staff, would stay again.

Room Tip: ~We stayed in bedroom at the front of the hotel, we were worried that this might be noisy as it is o...
