if you don't want to sleep well, ask for room 38 in this hotel ! this room is right under the hall, and is very noisy, we can hear every discussion, and the floor cracks just like it was falling down on you... At 3 AM, the owner of the hotel starts arguing with the receptionist, and at 6AM someone's knocking on the door next to ours to get something like a coffee machine ! We have toilets and shower room outside of the room, it's not that comfortable ! In a positive way, the english breakfast is quite good, and the bus to London Center is near the hotel.

Bedbugs - no. Smelly - no. However, this hotel is really having a laugh at charging £84 for a night. I guess our room (room 12) was the suite as it had it's own "bathroom" however there was barely enough room to swing a cat and when having a shower it was like having a bath as the water would not drain away. The water was hot at least so it was a warm "bath". There were no bedbugs as far as we could see (we completely checked the linen as soon as we checked in) and whilst the linen was clean, it was stained in places as was the duvet on top of the sheet. Not nice.

The hotel is completely run down, the room is furnished like a bad student hall of residence and the staff working there look like they've just walked in off the street. From the moment we checked in, we were constantly being asked if we would settle the bill which is alien to me as you usually spend the night first and actually experience your stay before paying. One can only imagine that they have payment problems all too often what with the state of the hotel and unhappy guests.

All this being said, the cooked breakfast in the morning was not bad at all and the night porter in the evening was very friendly. At over £80 a night though, there really is very little value for money. Then again, it is London. I would not recommend taking children to this place.

We were meant to be in another hotel for £10 less but the other hotel had a problem with our booking,we were given this hotel at £10 more, you would think it would be better,no way, holes in the wall the size a child can get through, tiles in bathroom half done,no handle son wardrobe,no hangers in wardrobe, windows so dirty you cannot see outside,we asked for tea and coffee and a kettle in the room, told yes no problem,we then had to beg for it,downstairs at breakfast no mugs no cups,no glasses,no butter for toast, unbelievable to get charged more then the other hotel which is next door and has all of these things, obviously will not be staying here again.

We booked a room with 3 single beds but when we arrived, we were given a room with a double and a single. Not great for my 2 teenage boys to have to share a bed. The receptionist was very rude and threw the room key down onto the bed when I questioned the room.
No hot water in our en suite bathroom the next morning, but the nice man on reception did his best to fix the water and then gave us a discount when he couldn't do anything about it. (we were able to use the shared bathroom, so no big deal in the end). He was lovely and almost made up for the woman the night before.
Nice breakfast included in the price.
Would be helpful to state on the website directions from the tube station.

I paid £76 to stay here for one night via Hotels.com only to find when I arrived, the hotel only charged £57! So a bad start but it got a lot worse!

Website said it was a few hundred yards from Tufnell Park tube station when in fact it was half a mile uphill away! Website said there was wifi available throughout but when I was there it was not available. The room (number 40) was horrible. A double bed and a single that looked like they'd been slept in as the duvets were badly creased. However when I checked, the sheets were fresh. The room just didn't appear clean. There was also a musty smell, like the one you get when you go in your Nan's spare room that hasn't been cleaned since 1975!

The only reason I have given this hotel 2 stars is because the breakfast was actually pretty decent. I received a cooked English breakfast and the waitress kindly gave me extra bacon, sausage and egg so I was happy with that.

My advice to anyone looking to stay in London is to avoid this place.

I place it in the same bracket as the Camden Lock hotel which is also terrible! If you want a recommendation, try magicstay.com their hotels are fantastic value and are all modern with fridges and microwaves in many of the rooms along with free wifi.

2 words BED BUGS
A absolute disgrace. This hotel is the worst place I have ever stayed in
It should be closed down. The rooms are filthy and not fit to stay in. The rooms are also very small. Yes it is a cheap hotel but it is not fit to host guests.
