I had booked a bed in a dorm for GBP 44.

On top of this, the recepionist overcharged. He said: "This is not a problem." Then, he did not realized that I had hold a second, follow-up reservation,

Then he was extremely annoying about identification.

I left.

Most terrible reception after. I wish that place would empoly qualified staff and not some overseas kid killing time.

Avoid at all cost.

I stayed in a 22-bed dorm room which was totally fine regarding cleanliness and room size. The people were very nice (personnel and other guests). The bathrooms and toilets were a little dirty but totally fine for a hostel. The location was good: close to pubs, the london bridge underground station and a bus stop right in front of the hostel.
The own pub included in the hostel was very nice, good food and fair prices (special offers for hostel guests). At the pub you can also meet locals which is great.
For a fun party weekend with nice people, I can totally recommend this place.

This accomodation is quite good regarding location and value for money. Close to transportation, restaurants, night shops and pubs. It has is own restaurant (I reccomend the burgers!) and pub, nice enough to have some beers. Staff is ok though a little disorganised and annoying if you don't sleep on your asigned bed. No need to worry about the cleanliness of the dorms, it is just a little hot in there. Showers are ok for a hostel; toilets are bit dirty, flush doesn't always work.

Still, I would reommend it and come back next time.

Naturally, you'll have to expect hostel amenities but the upside is hostel prices and location. This place stood out for us primarily because of its location in Southwark. Easy access to everything and not a far from London's major tourist sites. Very close to London Bridge station as well if you're planning on taking the train anywhere else. Beware that this place is certainly not for people looking for rest after their long travels (or light sleepers for that matter). The bar/nightclub below gets pretty loud pretty early, so it's much better suited for those looking to meet new and interesting people and have some fun London-style.

St. Christopher's employs poorly trained people that don't know the area. Also, there were really only two employs that I met during my 4 night stay that were friendly and eager to do whatever they could to help. The room only had one outlet for electricity and the wifi was unreliable and difficult to connect to on the second floor. The bathrooms have mold and are generally unclean. They don't stock paper towels or have any way to dry your hands after washing them in the restrooms (not sure why this is). The people in my room made my experience more enjoyable, but generally speaking, I will try to find someplace more helpful next time I visit London.

Room Tip: Find a different place with cleaner bathrooms and well trained staff.

Very much a party hostel with it's own bar as well as it's own nightclub. The public was allowed to use both of these venues at times which gave it a more authentic local atmosphere. There was a 'chill-out' room with a projector screen and you could get movies from the front desk to watch there. Cleanliness was OK, showers weren't all that great though, pressure was very low and staff were relatively friendly and helpful although I did get the impression that the front desk was a bit disorganized in general and could have been run a bit more efficiently. In an alright location just to the south of London Bridge but a bit far away from the West End, although I guess wherever you stay in London you'll always be quite far from other parts of the city.

Prebooked a room and upon arrival I was told they overbooked and there was no room, but another hostel half way across the city was available. They did find space for me at the one down the street but it was in a freshly painted room that made you feel sick. Out of 3 bathrooms on 2 floors only one had toilet paper. Breakfast was ok. Since they overbooked they offered the room at no charge, so the experience was fine. But not somewhere I would want to pay for. Staff was not exceptionally friendly or knowledgeable. Would only stay for one night max.
