“Great location, shame about the hotel”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2013

This is a great location for Greenwich as it is right by the park and town centre. That is however about all that was good about it. Our room was not ready at 2:15 when we arrived (after the stated check in time). The room was far too hot. There was no complimentary water to drink and they charge £5 per litre bottle. Even though check out is 12pm by 11am they had entered my room, cleaned it, moved all my stuff aside and cancelled my keycard so I couldn't get back in. When I pointed out that I was within my rights to still be using the room there was no apology from the reception staff. The only person who was overly helpful and a pleasure to deal with was the night receptionist.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review and my apologies if certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations, as you can see from the vast majority of other reviews we pride ourselves on our service levels and meet if not exceed our guest expectations on a consistant basis. Our check in time is from 2pm although many people arrive earlier and check in is done on a first come first serve basis, if other guests have checked out late in the morning we may not have all rooms ready by 2pm. My apologies there was no Complimentary water in your room, it is not a standard of ours and indeed not of most four star properties although it is popular in five star properties, for which of course you pay a premium price. Our check out time is clearly stated at 10am durign the week and 11am at weekends, both in the guest information booklets in roonms, on your key card and accross the websites that you can book rooms. My apologies if this was not clear. If a late check out was required then we are more than happy to accommodate as stated in your guest information booklet, reception just need to be informed.

Once again my apologies that certain aspects of your stay were not to the standard you expected.

Kind Regards
Will

Like a lot of people we used tis hotel for the convenience of going to the O2 Arena. Using the water taxi was a great way to arrive and a a normal taxi for the return trip. Rooms are nice and clean if not a little too hot, and the bar is well stocked for that all important drink when you get back. Breakfast was good, nice choice and service was also good. Would recommend this hotel as I say for the arena but also there are some nice places to walk around in the morning.

The room was comfortable and spacious enough, beds very comfortable, room very clean. The location was perfect with SO much to do in Greenwich- near the Maritime Museum and Greenwich Park, so close to the Cutty Sark, and within a few blocks of several amazing restaurants and pubs.
Then there is Greenwich Market which is wonderful! The staff at the hotel are professional and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the fellow who greets you in the morning in the restaurant-he is a character, he began another brilliant day for us! This location is just a few blocks from the DLR which makes it accessible to anything else one might care to do. And yet you are in a neighbourhood. It is perfect and lovely.

Room Tip: If your fellow happens to be big and tall, or if either of you are restless sleepers you might be be...

We all had a great time celebrating our 40th year in the Merchant Navy, We were all well looked after. The service was great. Rooms were clean and warm. We were uo rather late on the first night celebrating but the staff accommodated us well. There was lots to see. I recommend visiting the Cutty Sark and do a river ferry cruise. Thanks everyone.

Room Tip: Our room was nice overlooking the river, Cutty Sark and Canary Wharf.

We stayed here in November 2013 when we were going to the tennis at the O2. Firstly, 24 hour parking for £5 is the cheapest we have paid in London for ages. From the entrance, 50 yards to your left are the gates of the stunning Greenwich Park and observatory and around the corner to your right is the market, which has amazing food from all over the world.

The hotel - reception staff are friendly and helpful (make sure you get a key card for each person as you need them to get into the lift) the rooms are similar to what you get on a training course or conference. Bright, clean, small and a little bit tired, but comfortable.
The bar is nice and the coffee is free from the machine. Sky TV in the bar and a good atmosphere in the evening.

All in all, if you want a perfect location in Greenwich then this is perfect. Taxi to the O2 took 10 mins and cost a £10.

Wait until you meet the chap who greets you for breakfast. If you are a little worse for wear in the morning, this character will put a smile on your face.

Breakfast £8.50 and as good as any other you would get at this level of hotel.

We were visiting the Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark and Observatory, etc and this hotel is right beside the museum and next to a gate to Greenwich Park, so very central. We did have problems with the first room that we were allocated and after the staff tried unsuccessfully to fix, we moved to another room the next day. The first room overlooked the front of the hotel and even though it is away from the road, I still found it noisy. The second room overlooked the courtyard and was much quieter. Breakfast was fine, with a good selection.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room over the courtyard, if noise disturbs you.
