We have just returned from an amazing weekend stay in this beautiful hotel. There is so much to do right on the door step, too much to list. The rooms are a bit tired but clean and to be honest you shouldn't need to stay in them because there is so much to do in the area. The food is excellent, breakfast is amazing, great sausages. We also had an evening meal, which was excellent value for money and beautifully cooked. The staff go beyond the call of duty to be courteous and helpful. Lastly Everton the dining room chap is the best, every hotel should have an Everton!

Location - great, central to all things. Made exploring easy
Room - clean. great shower
Staff - very nice
Breakfast - fab, our kids esp loved it and staff very helpful

Only minus point was the noise!
We stayed on a Saturday night and our room was at the back of the hotel at the far end. Think it was room 328. We had a great day in the park, museum, then back for showes and then we went out for a meal, (had a really mexican meal, 5 mins walk) and for a stroll, then back to room, for a spot of telly then bed. Thats when the music started, it was like a 'rave', really very loud thumping music and this went on till midnight :-/
The kids just couldn't get to sleep.
Maybe families should be put at the front of the hotel and the party guests placed at the back!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review concerning your recent stay with us, I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay and in particular the location, staff and our new Eco showers. We are very proud of our breakfast and serve some great locally sourced items and it is great to hear feedback such as this. My sincere apologies that the noise disturbed you in the evening, whilst we do make every effort to place guests not associated with a function as far away from it as possible I will re-emphasise this procedure to the Reception and Reservations team. Thank you again for your response.

Kind Regards
Will

Stayed Sunday 17 February arrived 9.30am as it suited us to browse the Sunday Greenwich Market. Then a walk through the tunnel under the River to the "other side" discovering pubs in Shoreditch and Hoxton. Then winging our way back for a drink in Greenwich then back to the Hotel for an evening meal which although a little delayed - was recognised by the Kosh the Catering Manager who joined us in the bar to sort out any little problem - which was amicably resolved. All the staff were very kind and helpful, the room was a big and comfortable room. We booked on the special and also enjoyed a great breakfast in the morning before venturing out to visit all the Greenwich Museums which were wonderful. Car parked safely in the CCTV car park. Will definitely visit again on a special and would recommend anyone who needs a central base for their stay in London to book in at the Devonport.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your complimentary review of Devonport House. I am pleased that you had such an enjoyable stay and particularly enjoyed our dinner and breakfast and that Kush was so accommodating. You are quite correct that there is so much to do in the local area with some great attractions before you even consider the draw of central London itself! Thank you again for your review and I hope that you return to Devonport House in the not too dissent future!

Kind Regards
Will

Stayed at hotel on a £99 Sunday special, while visiting family in area. Stayed at De Vere hotels before, with mixed reviews, some quite poor, so had low expectations, however position, staff and rooms were good, so we went into dinner looking forward to a nice meal. The menu looked promising, but the food was very disappointing, the soup starter was very mediocre, the ribs were burnt, the bread was dry. Our first choice of main course (steak) was I available so we chose spatchcock poussin, this was absolutely tasteless & the accompaniments were stone cold. Again the dessert we chose was finished, so I chose lemon tart which was inedible. The service was poor, we waited 20mins to be able to order drinks. Having read other reviews, I think we must have been unlucky on the day, but won't be back and wouldn't recommend. Also the room was cold.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review and my sincere apologies that on this occasion your dining experience with us was not to the standard you expected or indeed that we expect of ourselves. As you quite rightly point out, such feedback is rare at Devonport House, therefore to receive feedback such as this is all the more disappointing. I would very much like to discuss it further with you and would be grateful if you could contact me on wsimmonds@deverevenues.co.uk at your convenience. Thank you again for your review.

We stayed here in February 2013, so we could visit the University of Greenwich, which incidentally is next door. Excellent location for us. We also visited the O2 during our stay for food and evening entertainment, which is close by too, no more than 5 mins in a taxi. The hotel is very clean, the staff are remarkable, all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was buffet style, plenty of choice and priced reasonably too. Whats more is you can park your car for £5 per day, excellent value for money allowing you to explore the area on foot. Overall Excellent Stay.

We stayed at the Devonport in December 2012 as we were going to a concert at the 02. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Room large, clean and comfortable, bathroom the same. We booked room only as there are lots of places to eat, and Greenwich has so many things to look at and visit. Trip up the river on a water bus excellent value to the centre and you can hop on or off as desired.

Very goo base and reasonable price.

We have stayed here before and returned for a Valentines Special. The room was good and large and clean, but the food was exceptional. The special included a 3 couse meal and a bottle of champagne in very pleasant surroundings and lovely waiters/waitresses. I had so much to eat that i could not finish my yorkshire rhubarb crumble, which was delicious.
This is good location for seeing London, just down the road, near Cutty Sark, is the jetty for the boats to london. It is best to buy a day rover for an extre £1.50, them you get on and off as you please. Locally Grenwich park is very close with its museums, art galleries and observartory. The view across the river to those money grabbing bankers in Canary Wharf is well worth the climb up the hill.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side have good views but suffer from traffic noise.
