“Pleasant stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2011

Reception area and bar were well designed, staff friendly and willing to help. Room was lovely, desk and chair, large bed, armchair, wardrobe, iron/ironing board, tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast good although lacking in tables if it's busy. Only downside was that I was given a smoking room and therefore the pillows, etc smelled of stale smoke. Excellent location for access to Excel centre.

Room Tip: Specify "non-smoking"

This was the first time I've ever stayed in London and was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the rooms were. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms had a lot of room to put your things. (Make sure to request the view of the dock, though, otherwise you might be getting a little cozy with the flats next door.)
The pool was excellent! It was the perfect temperature.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
Unfortunately I had a rough flight and as a result didn't get to enjoy the restaurant too much... but they had the most amazing lattes. When I go back to London, even if I don't stay here, I will be returning just to sit in the comfy outdoor seating area and enjoy a latte. With such a quiet neighborhood overlooking Royal Victoria dock, it just can't get any more relaxing than that!
The location is the best part. It is a very quiet neighborhood, with a convenience store next door and the DLR right behind it. (It's very far from Heathrow, though. If you're taking a cab, call ahead to arrange a car to take you to the hotel. It's much cheaper and far more comfortable.)
Nice little touches, too... lotion in the main restrooms and so forth... gave it a luxurious feel.
The only issue we had is that the key cards kept demagnetizing. It didn't matter what we did.
Other than that, it was a very pleasant stay, and I would definitely return!

My husband organised a surprise birthday party and weekend stay at this hotel. The organisation was smooth, and the staff were prompt and responsive to his needs when planning surprises for the room, and for the big dinner.

We stayed in the corner Suite on the 5th floor with excellent views over the Docklands area and the Millenium dome. At night, all lit up, it was very romantic to be standing out on the balcony. The suite was spotless and very plush and stylishly decorated in a contemporary style.

We had our dinner and party in the private dining room at the back of the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were spot on and attentive throughout and the ambience was great.

What I liked least was that the weekend was too short- I could happily have stayed there a few more days! I would like to thank Joanne Taylor-Stagg, the GM, and her team for making our weekend there most enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

In the words of the Terminator, 'I'll be back!"

We've just got back from 2 nights here and have had a great stay. When we arrived we were given a room on the second floor. We went straight out into London but when we got back there was a wedding directly below us in full swing and the noise was to say the least intrusive. The staff on reception were extremely helpful and moved us immediately to a quiet room on the 6th floor.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable and had everything you could possibly need for a pleasant stay.

The only downside was that the leisure club was closed for refurbishment and we were not warned in advance so brought our gym things and swimming things all the way to London for nothing.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Transport to and from London is easy and excellent and the location makes it more peaceful than many London hotels.

As it was the second night of our honeymoon we prepaid £130 for a room with breakfast.

On arrival at 1.30pm the receptionist struggled with the computer system, before getting a second employee to sort the problem who in thurn got a third who solved the problem in seconds. We were told our room was 5004 and the Key Card holder said that too. But the keys didn't open the door and so another long trek back to reception to discover it was actually room 5007. The room was big with a desk and King Sized bed but the bathroom was small.

The pool was out of order and that disappointed us as we only booked it beacuae of its facilities, otherwise it would have been the Holiday Inn Express down the road.

Breakfast was buffet style. A great selection of Premium products for you to choose.
