Stayed on two occasions at the Holiday Inn Royal Park. Overall hotel is ok for a short stopover. Rooms usual standard for this chain, clean with double and secondary glazing which cut out any noise from tube at rear or traffic at front of hotel .Breakfast service could be better. Limited hot food scrambled egg/poor quality sausages and beans if any are available. Tables are not cleared from previous guest use and lounge area used as an overflow. Management need to redeploy extra staff at peak times to alleviate problems.
Good location next to North Acton Tube station direct central line 30 mins to central London and 10 mins to new Westfield shopping complex/restaurants in Shepperds Bush area.
Limited car park at hotel £10 per night cannot reserve space.
Would stay again in hope breakfast service were improved.

Let me assure you that this bad experience may have been a one-off incident and not the norm. However, I will take personal interest to check that this is not repeated.

We were in London for an american football game at Wembley.
The location was perfect: bus stop right in front of the door, tube (Central Line) behind the hotel, Tesco across the street.
Comfortable room, quiet and clean. Few choices for breakfast, but it was consistent and tasty.
I recommend this hotel!
Guides for Wembley:
tube - Central Line (red) from North Acton to Bond Street, then Jubilee Line (grey) from Bond Street to Wembley Park;
bus - 266 from North Acton Station (Z) to St. Mary's Road (Z), then 18 from St. Mary's Road (Z) to Waverley Avenue (SJ).

Holiday Inn Express so you know what to expect. No evening meal provided for example. But great location by North Acton tube, rates have been fair compared to central London and free wifi. Friendly, courteous staff. If you just need a place to stay on business or for leisure then this is highly recommended.

I have used this hotel twice, once in May and once in October. Unfortunately, in May, I slipped in the shower. I spoke to the management about it and reported it in their accident book. I discovered that I was not the first guest to have slipped in the shower.The problem was caused by the lack of non-slip mats in the shower, coupled with a low water power, so the suds from the evening were still there in the morning. The hotel management promised that mats would be put in all rooms.

In October, this had not been done, although a mat was provided when I asked for one.I would suggest that anyone staying here does this at check-in to avoid the risk of an accident.

Other issues with this hotel is the lack of food, although they do offer a selection of local take-out menus (Indian, Chinese and Pizza), and there is a Fuller's pub just across the road. Car parking is very limited, so I would suggest arriving no later than 5pm to be sure of a space. There was a charge of £10 per night in October 2012 for the car park.

The staff are very friendly, and helpful. The rooms are quiet and my son and I had a very good nights sleep. The croissants at breakfast are provided by a local baker, rather than being the usual frozen/reheated rubbish, so that is good. They have also had a new coffee machine installed recently.

Overall, this is not a bad hotel. It is just disappointing that they have not taken care of a safety problem which was identified, for which a solution was identified. I really hope that this has not been done because of the perceived cost of providing a non-slip mat for each room.

Room Tip: Ask for a non-slip shower mat at check-in. Rooms are triple glazed so noise is minimal.

I would like to thank you for your elaborate review concerning your stay. I am sorry to hear about your accident during your first visit in May this year. With all due respect, I would like to make a humble submission that since the start of operations in 2003, the hotel has slip resistant shower flooring in all of its 108 guest bedrooms, and is in 100% compliance with the IHG guidance for safety standards. However, after the reported accident, the management certainly has acted upon your recommendation and now keeps a stock of extra bath mats for guests who feel that they need additional protection. The mats are however made available on request as was provided to you on this occasion.

On another note, I thank you for your kind words regarding the hotel staff. It is very encouraging to know that in spite of certain other concerns, it did not reflect on the hotel and the staff as a whole.

What friendly staff. Saw to it that all our needs were met, including the requested adjoining rooms. Very handy for the Tube, triple glazing kept all the noise out and the rooms and downstairs areas were spotlessly clean!
Will stop there again on our next visit to London

One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Offered the following: big room, clean, with comfortable bed, big bathroom with plenty of shelf space, good sized shower & water pressure, nice wide basin sink, free wireless internet and ample desk space for laptop, tea/coffee maker, good mirror lighting, very good temperature control, & excellent breakfast choices. Floor was quiet. Area felt safe to walk around in. Hotel literally two minutes from North Acton tube stop. Tube roughly 20 minutes to central London. Front desk personnel some of the most helpful, cordial, accommodating I have ever experienced. Went out of their way to help - e.g., printed restaurant, shop, bus route directions; showed us Google satellite images & reviewed explicit directions; printed out email; loaned me electrical adapter for stay when mine didn't work; called a company to request item cost; looked up closest businesses (e.g., pharmacy, restaurant) at different tube stops; opened my store-bought beer a few nights; etc. Pleasantly & easily did whatever we requested. They all deserve recognition. Yes, every hotel has some minor inconveniences (so big deal, they ran out of breakfast muffins 4-5 days into our stay; hot water in sink was too hot if faucet moved over more than a little bit; fresh linens every 3 days so towels remained a little wet after maid cleaned room; I don't think they had an alarm clock, so bring your own). Nothing to speak of, just including these for completeness sake. A+ hotel experience; will most definitely stay there again next time in London.

Location wise - a few miles out of central London but just a few mins walk from North Acton Underground, Central line so very easy to get into the centre. Despite the closeness to the tube, you couldn't hear any noise.

Room was very clean and bed very comfy.

Breakfast was a pleasant surprise with plenty of choice.

In all, not a bad choice for London
