“Very good hotel, close to tube and Kings Road”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

Had to make a quick trip to London and stayed here for one night. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was totally adequate if a little warm. Buffet breakfast for £10 was excellent with a full range to choose from. I booked this on lastminute.com and got a great rate and would definitely stay here again. Easy access to Chelsea and Kings Road. Perhaps not so great at weekends if full of football supporters but for midweek a great choice.

Room Tip: This hotel was one of lastminute.com's mystery hotels and was offered at half the other internet...

We got this hotel by booking through a website and getting this on a secret deal - it was a pleasant surprise. The room was immaculately clean and felt very new. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful too. It is also about 2 minutes walk from the nearest tube station. It is worth its 4 star rating as it was so clean and tidy and had better than average facilities. The room was an adequate size and had an adequate sized bathroom. Internet fees are a bit daft though. If I was there for a Football game it would be superb (although probably a bit more expensive). Not completely central for tourism or possibly business, but only a tube ride away and accurately priced.

We stayed in the Copthorne building, not sure how it compares to the Millennium building. On our reservation, it was unclear as to which building to go to for check in. We tried the Millennium first, and were directed to the Copthorne building for check in.

The hotel is a part of the Chelsea Football Club complex. We weren't there during a game day, so it was quiet around the complex outside. Unfortunately it was not quiet in the hotel. A very large group of teenagers from Italy were staying in the hotel at the same time. They were not well supervised, were very loud, and permeated all of the common areas of the hotel. It felt more like we were staying in a college dorm than a hotel.

Unfortunate fellow guests aside, the hotel itself was as expected. We would rank it a 3.5 rather than the 4 it was advertised as, but we were happy with the accommodations. The desk staff was friendly and efficient. The room was an adequate size with a nice large bathroom and deep tub. The bed and bedding were plush and comfortable. A kettle with tea, coffee and packaged biscuits was provided each morning.

The location of the hotel was a quick 5 minute walk from the Tube station, making it very easy to explore many different areas of London while we were there.

We stayed here for two nights - wanted to be in Chelsea/Fulham and got a deal on lastminute.com - the rooms are a decent size, hotel was very quiet midweek - I guess it's busy on match days.
It felt quite impersonal - apparently recently refurbished but the beds were very soft and saggy - definitely could do with new mattresses. Rooms were clean, decent size for London. Near bus/tube stops and lots of bars/restaurants.

Next door to Chelsea Football Club, it is the ideal place to stay to enjoy the excitement.

Unfortunately I was there on business and as a business destination it is nothing special. Room is average. Some colleagues complained of uncomfortable beds. Mine was adequate. Bathroom has good working space, Tubs are typical giant English tubs with inadequate shower capability. Water pressure is typical of London, which is weak. Desk area was a bit crowded. Hot water kettle is in room with powdered coffee, otherwise no mini-bar. My biggest gripe of any business hotel is internet. Here they have the nerve to charge $15 per day for a wireless connection that was spotty and poor. Unacceptable! They offer free wifi in the lobby, but you will find so many people sitting down there all trying to grab the signal that it's impractically slow.

If I was there as tourist, I would not recommend staying here. First, it is away from the city center and has a few restaurants nearby, but not much nightlife for the tourist. While it is not far from a tube station, it's still a 20 minute ride into the city; for the same price and quality you can stay much more conveniently.

If you love Chelsea and want to soak up the football atmosphere, this is the place to stay. Any other reason to visit London, this hotel is average at best and I think you could do better.

When I first got this hotel through Priceline, I was a little bummed at the location. Now, having stayed there, I can tell you there is nothing wrong with the location and the hotel is very good. We were in the Copthorne and the room was quite large, especially compared to our hotel’s room in Paris. It’s equivalent to any US business hotel’s room. It was very well appointed, very comfortable and the bathroom was very good as well (large and well lit). The only downside was the AC didn’t perform all that well but as it was early October, there was no point in contacting the front desk as it was not inconvenient.

The hotel is an eight minute walk from the Fulham/Broadway Underground station. It is in a little shopping mall that can provide you with anything you might want. Additionally, the #14 bus stops right outside the hotel and can take you direct to Picadilly Circus quite easily. In fact, this was a big surprise. We rode it in the early evening on a Saturday and it was much easier than The Tube.

Within a five minute walk, there are two outstanding restaurants (Megan’s Deli and Mare Moto) and probably more if you search this website. There is no reason to eat at the hotel if you don’t want to. Also, there is an excellent restaurant about a 15 minute walk (Medlar’s).

The concierge was quite helpful and the whole staff was quite friendly. A minor complaint is the charge for in-room wireless (which there isn’t if you stay in the Millennium) but whatever. You choose to use it or not.

Do not hesitate to book this place. We even stayed over when there was a Chelsea game. If that happens, plan to be away the entire day. There’s enough to do in London where there is no need to come back.

We stayed here in August for a last minute birthday weekend and got a deal on Lastminute.com so it only cost £69 per night. If we had paid anymore than this we would have been really disappointed. The room was OK but we've been in better Holiday Inns or Premier Inns that cost alot less! The bar was expensive so we went out in the evening. Had one meal at Frankies which was awful so dont recommend that - walked up to the Kings Road for a much better meal at less cost.
Wouldnt hurry back
