Beverley City Hotel

The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from Paddington station, so it was great for us getting in from the airport. As soon as we got there we liked the feel of this small hotel. The room wasn't large but it was really nice, very clean and the bed supercomfortable. We have stayed in London before always choosing 3 star hotels and the Beverley is probably the nicest we have stayed in. Also Breakfast was more than we expected with fresh boiled eggs, cheese and ham, very nice! We stayed over the weekend for two nights and we will go back on our next visit.

We were allocated a room on the fourth floor. There was no lift. We requested a room at a lower level and were given one on the ground floor. It was a very small dark room at the back of the building. We had to leave the light on and the curtains pulled as other guests passed the window to get to their rooms further back in the building. The bathroom was adequate in size. The ceiling and some of the wall tiles had black spots on them as there was no air extractor fan. The grouting in the shower and shower door was dirty and mouldy. The t.v. did not work. We reported it. It was not fixed. Breakfast was from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. The breakfast room was small and crowded with tables. If all the tables had been occupied at the same time, no one would be able to move. Guests had to get off their chairs to allow guests at adjoining table to pass. The orange juice provided was just coloured water - it had been so diluted with water. No tea provided. A notice in the reception area described the breakfast as "rich".
There was no information provided about what to do in case of a fire. We did not see any fire escape. There was only one exit for us to use, in case of an emergency.
We asked for a second key but it was policy to only give one key per room. We would not recommend it to anyone. We were so happy when our stay there ended.

This is a well presented, lavishly refurbished, clean hotel close to eateries, transport and the West End but the premises are not large enough for a hotel. My room was much the most cramped of the 12 rooms I stayed in in the UK. The breakfast room was so cramped that everybody at a table had to get up and push their chairs in to let somebody get past so I gave up on getting breakfast. No toiletries in my room and no tea or coffee making facilities. An old TV that got only 3 channels. Mobile phone reception in my room was unreliable. An internet connection cost GBP5 per hour. I had stayed at a better hotel nearby for GBP16 less per night just a few weeks before.Staff not very helpful. But the KILLER was that, though I had booked 2 months in advance, I was offered a 4th floor room. I am a 66 year old woman and there was no lift and no offer to take my luggage up for me.

The hotel is clean and the staff are almost friendly. Location is good but there's better. Rooms are very small (thank God I'm not tall or else I would've suffered). Breakfast is simply boiled eggs, cheese, jam, cereals, juice, coffee and tea. Would recommend it for young people that just need a clean place to sleep in and for young couples who need to save money for other more useful purposes. London is AMAZING.

We went on a short five day trip , on arrival we found the desk manned by helpful a man the desk is not manned 24 hours but help is available from a desk 50 m up the road ,
the room was small but clean tv , hair dryer , but no kettle which would have been nice for tea or coffee .
bathroom was very small but it did the job, shower was excellent with plenty of hot water . the walls can be bit thin .
from what i could see of other rooms they are all on the small side .
breakfast was my biggest crib , eggs, cold meats, cheese or cereal was on menu but the room was tiny for the amount of people staying. if i was returning this is the only thing that would put me off .
traffic noise was non existent however we could hear the tube as it is quite close but not loud enough to be a bother .and it stops at around 12pm

the area seems quite safe , the tube is about 2 -3 min walk from the hotel . there are a few shops , MacDonalds KFC and a few pups restaurants.

if you feel like a Chinese do not go to the one near the padigton Hilton as it is rotten , it is better to go to china town ,

over all we were satisfied the room is small but clean but the location is very good the staff are friendly , as a base to do some site seeing and to rest at night it is a good choice .

My girlfriend and I booked a double room for one night to go to a concert, we got there to find a note on the door which told us to check in at the neyland so with are luggage and in the rain we did so! Not a good start!!! The girl took one look at us and as we are both females gave us a twin room when it clearly stated on the booking confirmation double!!! The twin room (which was in the basement next to the toilets and breakfast room ) was so small there was no room for the luggage! The worst thing about this room was the smell in the bathroom, i think it was the drains as it was clean. It wasn't so bad when we first checked in but when we woke up and went into the bathroom the pair of us were almost sick and had to get out!! We went to the breakfast room for a cup of tea.... was none!!!! So had a glass of orange cordial, no pure orange only coffee!! We explained to the man on reception at 8am when he was finally there and he said nobody has complained about this smell before (this is very hard to believe) and he said sorry!! We checked out at 8.15am and went for breakast with our cases in toe elsewhere. DO NOT STAY HERE, EVEN A NIGHT IS TOO LONG!!!!!!!

Not a big room, checkin smooth, showers excellent, bit much traffic noise for my liking, but you can get this in more expensive hotels too, so overall very good.
