As they say, the hotel is a five minute walk from Pimlico Station (Victoria Line ) & ten minutes from Westminster Station (District, Circle and Jubilee Lines). Taxis were available out front all the time as well. There was construction next to the hotel while we were here in April 2013, but it never disturbed our stay.
Warm cookies on our arrival & bottles of water in the room that were actually complimentary (not typical in the U.S.)
We had a nice King size bed, nice toiletries, complimentary Apple TV/Computer in the room with WiFi access.
Would stay again if I wanted to be in the Westminster area, just a few minutes from Westminster & all its glory.

We have just returned from this hotel today and I felt I had to review them to sing their praises. We booked the hotel for a weekend in London. My first dealings with them was when I phoned them to arrange for them to take delivery of an oxygen concentrator that I needed to use overnight. They were considerate and it was no trouble. On arrival check in was fast and we were asked to wait to see the manager as he would explain evacuation procedures personally which I thought was rather strange. I hadn't mentioned that I sometimes had to use a wheelchair due to a breathing condition and hadn't asked for a disabled room, but they had picked up on this after my request for permission to use oxygen and the manager escorted us to a room fully fitted out with every aid someone with a disability could possible want. From then onwards all the staff were friendly and courteous and nothing was too much trouble. The full English breakfast set us up each morning for tackling London and we were asked about our days out several time when we returned. Yes, there was construction work going on, but it never disturbed us. It was near enough to London's sights to satisfy us, We were there to enjoy days out in London and not sit in the hotel and as long as the bed was comfortable and we good service then we were satisfied. Would we recommend it? Yes, to anyone. Would we go again? Yes like a shot

Room Tip: As long as it's comfortable why worry about the view. If you are having fun you spend very litt...

We visited London for a week in early May. This hotel was great for us. It was near transportation but was quiet. The service was great and a full English breakfast was included. Loved the free internet! The concierge helped us with tours and restaurants. There is construction going on behind the hotel but it didn't really bother us. They don't work on week-ends and on bank holidays so they weren't there every day. Taxis are readily available. The Tate Britain Museum is just down the street and we took a day to walk down to visit the museum and to have lunch at an outside table there. We didn't want to be near too much hustle and bustle - perfect spot for us!

Stayed mid 2013 and wasn't told about the fact the hotel is surrounded by a construction site and it is awful. First time in London such a poor experience. Also, reservation staff lied about the room set up. Needed twin beds and was told I could have them no problem. So booked a week and I double checked twin beds before arriving and they lied again. On arriving they told me only a queen was possible because the rooms are so small. The construction nightmare will take another year to complete so it will be going through until mid 2014 at least. I made sure I found this out to warn others. Hotels should really tell you about this on booking to be fair. At least this will give other travellers a choice to go somewhere else. My recommendation - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Dear Mavic84,

Thank you for your review of the DoubleTree Westminster. I am sorry to see that your stay with us was not as enjoyable as that of most of our guests who have reviewed our Hotel.

London is a thriving City, constantly evolving, and the building work taking place in our neighbourhood is regrettably beyond our control; however, if you register with our Hilton Honors program, you can specify and save your room preferences to your HHonors profile, and we will endeavour to accommodate you on the unaffected side of the building for future stays whilst the works are on-going. My sincere apologies for any inconvenience experienced.

Your feedback is important to us as it highlights areas of service in which we may improve, and I have forwarded your comments regarding your check-in experience to our Front of House Manager for training and quality purposes. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I do apologise that your preferred room type was unavailable on your arrival.

Once again, I am sorry that your experience with us was not as positive as you would have liked, but thank you for sharing this with us, and we do hope to welcome you back to the DoubleTree Westminster in future.

Kind regards

Dola O

The hotel is a very modern, clean, quiet and comfortable hotel in Westminster. The staff was friendly and efficient. I had booked a suite and found it to be very comfortable and spacious. I loved the convenience of the apple TV/computer in both the living room and bedroom. The high speed Internet worked very well. While not cheep, it was overall a good value for a nice London hotel in a good location. I will stay here again when in London.

Great functional hotel...shame no coffee making facilities so you could have a cuppa with the delicious cookie they give on arrival. Great to have a mac in the room. Good hotel but it is quite pricey. Room service prompt and good.

OK, we booked this hotel because as much as my husband and I both enjoy experiencing other cultures, when we go to bed in the evening, tired from our adventures, we want to feel like we're in the United States! Specifically - we want a king size bed and a spacious hotel room. So...we booked this hotel, even though it was supposedly "farther away from all the tourist attractions" in London. In other words, it was in a quieter area - which turned out to be perfect. Warning - as of June 2013, there is some construction in the area across the street from this hotel, but don't let that put you off. We couldn't hear a bit of it inside the hotel, and we requested a higher floor with a view that didn't face the construction, and were immediately granted our wish by the very helpful and friendly staff.

We booked a king suite - which cost no more than a tiny, cramped room right in the center of things in London. The suite was amazingly comfortable, with a FANTASTIC bathroom, and decent views of the Thames river and surrounding neighborhoods. The hotel restaurant is quite good for an evening meal, and there are several bistros within walking distance as well. Another good thing about the location is that it's close to a convenient stop for the Hop On Hop Off tour buses. Each day we were there, we enjoyed our walk to and from that bus stop, through the quiet neighborhoods and parks, away from the bustling crowds we were about to immerse ourselves in as we saw the London sights!

We will definitely stay here again next time we are in London.

Room Tip: Ask for a room up high facing the river rather than the street.
